Crown Heights, Brooklyn — A Brooklyn man was killed in a drawn-out gunfight with the police yesterday after squeezing a lifetime of mayhem into less than 20 minutes, carjacking and crashing two cars, firing at an apartment door and a carful of strangers, and then finally at officers who closed in after he squirmed out of a passenger’s side window, the police said.

Police Investigating Anti-Semitic Vandalism

Glastonbury, CT — A police representative said Monday they were investigating what appeared to be anti-Semitic vandalism.

A sign for the Chabad East of the River Jewish Center was defaced with a six-inch swastika and the word ‘Jewish’ was altered to read ‘Jew’. The sign was posted at the intersection of Main and Griswold Street.

Jewish Woman Harassed and Followed

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — A Jewish woman left her home with her child in a stroller at around 11:00 this morning on her way to do some shopping, a short half a block later she noticed that she was being followed by a Black male in his mid 20’s. He followed her for a few blocks and made a comment to her about her walking.

Car Break-in on Brooklyn Avenue

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Last night a SUV was broken into and its Navigation system was stolen from the vehicle along with some other electronics and a pair of Tefillin. The SUV a GMC Yukon was broken into sometime last night while it was parked on Brooklyn Ave between Carroll and Crown.

Shoplifted a Vacuum Cleaner and Escaped VIA a Mikvah!?

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — In a bizarre shoplifting incident a woman got away with a vacuum cleaner in her bag! The incident took place in Sterling Electronics, owned by Mendel Brikman. At around 1:00 PM the Shomrim hotline received numerous calls from bystanders, store owners and store workers reporting the incident while Mr. Brikman reported the incident to the police.

Mugging Turns into Vicious Beating – 2 Arrested

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — A Bochur was viciously beaten last night by two Black men in an attempted mugging. The incident took place on President Street between Brooklyn and Kingston at around 10:30pm.

The two perpetrators pulled out what appeared to be a real gun and pointed at the Bochur and demanded his money, but the Bochur, who did not speak English tried to answer them and amongst the confusion the perps began to beat him.

Another Break-in, this time on Eastern Pkwy

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Early Sunday morning, at about 4 AM, Shomrim got a call from a homeowner stating that he was just in a scuffle with someone who had broken into his home.

The incident happened on Eastern Parkway between Albany and Troy. A Black male broke the basement window and crawled through the narrow opening, he then made his way upstairs while collecting things around the house.

Crown St House Burglarized

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — At about 1:30 AM Friday morning, a house on Crown St was broken into. The robbers broke in using a crowbar to enter through the side door.

The house located on Crown St between Troy and Schenectady, was burglarized while the residents were sleeping. The robbers broke in using a crowbar, breaking off the side door of the house, they emptied the house of some loose cash and Tzedaka Pushkas.

The residents woke up the next morning not knowing they were burglarized, until later on in the day when they realized their side door was missing. The residents said that they heard someone walking around at 1:30 AM and thought it was one of them.

Fifteen Arrested In Crown Heights Drug Sting

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — The Brooklyn district attorney’s office said Thursday that Operation Crown Strike in Brooklyn has ended with the arrest of 15 people allegedly involved in a drug ring.

The D.A. and NYPD say they found several gangs dealing drugs in different areas of Crown Heights.

Officers made the arrests after executing several search warrants last week.

Bochur Mugged for his Laptop on Eastern Pkwy

Crown Heights, Brooklyn – “I need to feed my kids” is what a mugger told his victim when he snatched the laptop out of the hands of a Bochur on Eastern Parkway. The incident took place yesterday, Tuesday, at around 3:00pm between New York and Brooklyn.

The Bochur was sitting on a bench on Eastern Pkwy when a tall male black described to be in his mid 20’s pulled the laptop from the lap of the Bochur while pushing him down, the perp was accompanied by what was described as a 10 year old youth, as the perp pulled the laptop for the grasp of the Bochur he said “I need to feed my kids”.

Gunshots on Crown and Brooklyn, Shabbos Afternoon

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Blood and spent bullets were seen scattered around at the intersection of Crown and Brooklyn this Shabbos afternoon.

According to eye witnesses two cars pulled up to the intersection where shouting and yelling was exchanged between the occupants of the two vehicles followed by gun shots.

The incident took place at around 1:00 in the afternoon where witnesses described a white van and a red sedan pulling alongside each other and exchange some shouting and two gun shots rang out.

Glass Bottle Thrown into Apartment Window

Crown Heights, Brooklyn –- A Couple woke up last night to the sound of crashing glass in their living room, the incident took place at around 2:30am, at first they though it may be a burglar and they immediately called Shomrim. Patrolling member arrived on scene within moments of the call and began searching the area.

Shomrim Assist in Recovery of Stolen Strollers

Crown Heights, Brooklyn – Motzoi Shabbos, at around 9 PM, Shomrim received a call from a resident of a building that witnessed a Black Male off steal two baby strollers belonging to neighbors in the building on the corner of Lamont Court and Empire Blvd and that he was following the suspect.

Violent Emotionally Disturbed Person Vandalizes Car – Gets Apprehended

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Today, Wednesday at around 6:30 PM, a visibly agitated Black male around 6’ 2” walking around without a shirt in the vicinity of East New York and Kingston muttering and mumbling to himself, suddenly smashed the window of a parked vehicle right in front of a number of Shomrim members.

Assault and Mugging on Carroll and Kingston

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Last night a woman walking to her car which was parked on Kingston between Carroll and President was attacked and mugged. The incident took place at around 9:15pm, the woman was approached by a Black male described to be around 5”10 wearing a white t-shirt and a heavy build, and he made off with $200 and her glasses.

Attempted Mugging in front of 770

Crown Heights, Brooklyn – At around 10:00pm a member of Anash left downstairs 770 after Maariv and as he passed the upstairs entrance he was approached by 3 Black males who demanded his money.

The would be victim quickly yelled ‘Chaptzem’ and ‘Help!’ and a large group of Bochurim and Anash came out to his assistance scaring off two of the suspects and apprehending one.

Glass Bottle Thrown At A Bochur

Crown Heights, Brooklyn – Last night, Motzoai Shabbos at around 10:00pm a Bochur was walking on Albany Ave between Eastern Parkway and Union St and talking on his cell phone noticed three Black teens hanging around on the corner of Eastern Pkwy and Albany, so he avoided them and continued walking when all of a sudden one of them threw a glass bottle at him.

B”H the bottle missed the Bochur, it fell short and smashed all over the sidewalk. The Bochur immediately called Shomrim who responded and canvassed the area for what the Bochur described was three Black teens around the ages of 17 all wearing black raincoats with hoodies.
