
Car Break-in on Brooklyn Avenue
Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Last night a SUV was broken into and its Navigation system was stolen from the vehicle along with some other electronics and a pair of Tefillin. The SUV a GMC Yukon was broken into sometime last night while it was parked on Brooklyn Ave between Carroll and Crown.

The owner of the vehicle was alerted to his car being broken into by a phone call from a friend who called to tell him that he has his Tefillin. He told him that they were recovered by a friend of his that had found then on a street in Crown Heights and he recognized the name on the bag.
He then went to check on his vehicle and found his dashboard torn open and the navigation system missing along with a digital camera and his Tefillin, the thieves did not take any of the money that was laying in the open in the center console.
The burglar or burglars got into the vehicle by using a method well know to police by breaking the lock using a screwdriver and prying underneath the door handle.
Police were called and they filled a police report and ordered the Evidence Collection Team to come and try to lift fingerprints to aid in the investigation of this case but were unable to lift and useable prints from the vehicle.
