B”H the bottle missed the Bochur, it fell short and smashed all over the sidewalk. The Bochur immediately called Shomrim who responded and canvassed the area for what the Bochur described was three Black teens around the ages of 17 all wearing black raincoats with hoodies.
Glass Bottle Thrown At A Bochur
Crown Heights, Brooklyn – Last night, Motzoai Shabbos at around 10:00pm a Bochur was walking on Albany Ave between Eastern Parkway and Union St and talking on his cell phone noticed three Black teens hanging around on the corner of Eastern Pkwy and Albany, so he avoided them and continued walking when all of a sudden one of them threw a glass bottle at him.
B”H the bottle missed the Bochur, it fell short and smashed all over the sidewalk. The Bochur immediately called Shomrim who responded and canvassed the area for what the Bochur described was three Black teens around the ages of 17 all wearing black raincoats with hoodies.
The canvass yielded no results so the Bochur called 911 and police responded with a few cars within moments and did their own canvass as well. A police report has not been filed due to the fact that the Bochur did not (B”H) become a victim since the bottle didn’t actually hit him. Police said that they will patrol the area in response but there is no report to file.
In case of an emergency call 911 and Shomrim at (718) 774-3333 24/7
Report
Why can’t he make a report it’s a attempt assault.
Me
There were 3 black teens who mugged a younger black kid on the corner of E Parkway and Brooklyn around 9 Motzai Shabbos and then ran off in that direction. Maybe the same teens?
it didnt hit him
whew that is pretty scary i would
never want to walk outside at 10:00
pm sharp
start the peace
What a crock, this police department will do anything not to file a report.
I guess that means that if you shoot someone and you miss, no crime was committed.
me myself and i
why is it that a report is only filed when some one is hurt.
why is it that the crime ratings are only based on reports.
all hate crimes
all rasist crimes
all allmost hurting
all almost breaking crimes
are not reported
jest waitin-
Well, it’s like I always say…as soon as the nice weather is here, the Shvartes crawl out of the sewers to rob, attack, & G-d forbid, even worse.
And the police stay in the AC eating donuts that Rubaskin & Chanina buy for them.
good luck, y’all!!

So if a bottle gets thrown at a Jew it’s only a crime if it hits them? How sad …. why is this such a hard concept for the police to get. The black kids in this community are animals. They need to be policed and monitored. There needs to be 2-3 cars just driving up and down Crown heights past 10 PM.
When are we going to get the protection we need? When are OUR tax dollars gonna go to protect us instead of supporting all these black kids with free housing and foodstamps.
It’s like we’re paying them to throw bottles at us.

They were the black men who mugged a young teen for his ipod I watched and broke it up.
They ran away torwards albany ava I told the young teen to file a police report. The cops came but didnt want to file anything because they didnt acually get the ipod.
Too bad… a mugging is not a mugging unless you get something!
Should we of le tthem mug the poor black teen?
What do the readers here think?
FYI
FYI: According to the law, when someone is put in fear of being physically hit that constitutes “Assault”, and if someone
is actually hit that constitutes “Battery” .
What happened here was clearly at least an Assault.
To say that no crime was committed and a report cannot be filled is a farce.
peretz rivkin
It is my opinion that the yidden should hire folks to randomly harass shvartzes for no reason at all..just like they harass us for kicks.
asher
dear editor,
i think it’s a bit irresponsible to report such an incident right outside the mikveh. rachmono litzlan who takes acroyus if a woman will be afraid to go there at night
concerned
Dear asher,
Let me get this straight…it shouldn’t be reported so the women should be afraid?? Better they should chas v’sholom be attacked????!!!!! If everyone is more aware, then they will be more careful. There was a police officer/car stationed there for many years. Maybe that would be the answer.
The police realize that most people won’t persist in their claims in order to make sure that a report is filed. This is where action needs to be encouraged. Ignoring the realities of life does not change things.
Bocher that the bottle was thrown at
Asher, I am very happy it was reported, people need to know what is going on it is very stupid to just ignore these things b/c thats when it actually happens, people should know, and complain, and more security and patrols should be around the area, thats why I am upset that the cops didnt let me report it b/c then the crime rates dont go up and its like nothing happened and they dont put out those NEEDED EXTRA PATROLS in those areas that need it so badly,
I would like to take this oppurtunity though to thank all those Shomrim that came in less than 1 minute to help and went with me to look and hopefully (too bad we were not able) catch the perps involved,
it really makes me feel much safer knowing that they will be at my rescue in a moments notice, good on you and thank you so much,
and of course I have to thank hashem for making sure that it didnt hit me you should of seen the glass it was splattered everywhere, just imagine the damage C”V.

The Apple Bank building has video cameras. I am sure if approached, they can sift through the video footage in conjuction with assistance from the police to Iddentify and nab those suspects!
May I point out that Shomrim volunteers …please park at a respectful distance from the mikva and keep an eye on the walking traffic. I have seen creepy people, especially near the derelict building and dark, terrifying alleyway. One such occasion I brisk walked in the street all the way to Kingston because an insane homeless man beckoned me to draw near as he appeared out of the alley)!!!
Next point. TZNIOUS! Shabbos night my husband saw a bunch of inappropriately dressed girls stoll down Union and were being cat called by a bunch of African youths. Needless to say the girls were frightened when they threw a ball at them. They stopped as my husband drew near.
Finally, stop blaming Mr. Sperlin for all the wrong. Yes the CHJCC is pathetic. We should learn from the Baltimore Community Volunteer squad. Each night the community members volunteer one evening every 4-6 weeks. In conjuction with the Police Dept. they take shifts and drive around to make sure the streets are safe. Anything suspicious is radioed into the police.
Want change? Unite. Brainstorm. Work together. Change. Don’t balme others for situations not in their command. The people of Williamsburg took control of their streets and made in safe.
Let’s get to work!!!!

About like 6-9 years ago there were shomrim and police car rowming around the street for hours from like 8:30pm to like 7:45am and crown heights then was safe but now the silly stile came in that no police cars no shomrin rowming around the street for security.
This is teribly policecroshis.
Good Luck With Crown Heights . . .
We need more Securiy now that Spring in
Sunday night at 9:30pm I saw 3 men on bikes driving north on Kingston Ave. One stopped at the corner of President St looked down the block bet. Kingston & Brooklyn (I guess to see if there was anyone to mug) and then kept on going.
Also, on Thuresday night at around 8:30pm right in front of Beis Binyomin on Montgomery & Kingston just a few minutes before Mariv, Three black teens tripped a Yid visiting from overseas and then mentioned something about money to him, he was very confused and just ran into the Shul.
ayl
can we look at the video camera from the apple bank building for clues?
Lawyer
FYI- While it may be an assault, that would only give the bachur a civil cause of action as opposed to a criminal one. In other words, the bachur could sue the shvartza, but that may not be a criminal act.

Perhaps it’s wise for every Yid to carry a cell phone, real or not (Get a broken one).
I was in Rochester Park (Very nice park) during the winter when two young teenagers going north on Rochester Avenue starting throwing rocks. My wife took out her (working, but needn’t be) cell phone and started to call 911 or Shomrim. I yelled out: ”Whe’ve got your pictures and we’re calling the police–they took off fast!
This was an isolated incident. We’ve been going there for a whole year.

When someone entered my garage and I yelled for him to leave – and he did, did he commit a crime? Was that trespassing? According to the policemen who came a few nights later to view a broken car window, if the person left when told to leave, no crime was committed. Is that correct? What constitutes trespassing and when can a police report be filed about it?

whats the phone number for the shomrim?
