Does Shomrim recommend any specific ways to prevent such an easy break-in with a crowbar?

Perhaps our community leaders can meet with Police officical/political leaders and see exactly what is involoved in installing video cameras on high risk blocks. It is not a very costly option and could provide not only footage of events but could also serve as a deterent to those who feel, rightly so, that our community is an easy target.

the summer is only beginning…this is not a good start.
a previous incident with a young teen who had his laptop snatched from his arms … the black said “he has to feed his family”. if food stamps etc are tightening we are going to feel it with break ins. not all of them are bad, some are simply desperate.

Good! Now the victims can be happy and learn 7 important things from a thief!
We can all be happy at their misfortune because it increases our learning!
My burglaries (Chas V’Shol-m) increase so we will become very educated!
Obviously I don’t like this teaching. Why find ANY satisfaction from the suffering of a Jew? The burglars are chiav misa (Was Reb Zushia talking about a Jewish burglar?) and a seccuna. Look at Mrs. Lapine (HY’D).
Why can’t we learn the same things from an animal or insect. How about a detective, explosive’s expert, mountain climber, doctor (surgeon) etc.?
This might bring me some angry email but, well, I always write my name and I’m bracing for the assault.
Please don’t tell me it was written by a Tzaddik (Whom I greatly respect) so I should keep silent. This teaching really bothers me.
Everyone in Frankel’s shul knows this.
