CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Pennsylvania resident received a rude “Brooklyn welcome” when a group of hooligans stole his moped while visiting the borough. The incident began when two members of Shomrim, who were patrolling on Motzai Shabbos, spotted a group of about 20 to 30 Black teens walking down Union Street from New York Avenue to Brooklyn Avenue.

Video – Arrest in Utica Ave Bodega Killing

CROWN HEIGHTS [WPIX] — A paroled rapist who served 15 years in jail for attacking two 12 year old girls is in police custody at Montefiore Medical Center, arrested and charged in connection with last week’s double murder in a Crown Heights bodega.

Police say 50 year old Charles Judd of The Bronx has been charged with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. Reports say he admitted that he was involved in the fatal armed robbery, but did not do the shooting.

Bochur Assaulted, Police don’t File Report

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Bochur was assaulted earlier this afternoon, on St. Johns Place and Brooklyn Avenue. As the Bochur was walking he was attacked from behind, by a Black male who put him in a headlock and broke his glasses.

This bizarre attack was only made stranger, by the fact that the perpetrator didn’t try to take anything from the Bochur. He didn’t demand and anything or even say anything to him, during the entire incident.

RIVERSIDE, CA — Vandals marred the Chabad Jewish Community Center late Thursday with anti-Semitic graffiti in German and swastikas.

The words and symbols were painted in purple on the center’s suite within a nondescript office building on Riverside’s Arlington Avenue.

The center and the Anti-Defamation League are offering a $1,000 reward for information.

Rabbi Shmuel M. Fuss said the center has received threatening phone calls in the past but nothing as shocking as the markings Thursday night.

The windows were covered with swastikas, an “SS,” and words such as “Actung! Juden,” which translates to “Warning! Jews.”

“Your average kid doesn’t know this kind of stuff,” he said.

Half a Dozen Cars Broken Into, Air Bags Stolen

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Last night Union Street was hit very hard, six cars were broken into and their air bags were stolen, and the damage is estimated to be over six thousand dollars.

Pattern of Home Invasions Burglary’s Emerge in CH

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Jewish Crown Heights resident first noticed a Black man coming in and out of his apartment building on Monday last week; then again on Wednesday. He didn’t think anything of it until he went into the basement on Friday and noticed a number of his boxes have been stolen.

New Round of Car Break-ins

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Over Shabbos two cars were broken into and ransacked. The incidents took place on Carroll Street between Brooklyn and Albany Avenues, and according to the owners it could have happened from when they parked Erev Shabbos till they got to their cars next on Sunday.

Deranged Suspicious Person Attacks Shomrim, Committed

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — It started with a suspicious man loitering on Kingston Avenue and ended off with property destruction and a racial bias crime.

At approx 11:00pm, Sunday Night, a Middle Eastern looking man was spotted walking up Kingston Ave and attempting to break into local stores. Numerous calls from worried residents were made and patrolling Shomrim Volunteers responded and also noticed the man. Additional units were called to the scene to ensure the safety of passerby and stores.

Brick Thrown into Classroom Window, Bochur Injured

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A large brick was lobbed into a first-floor classroom, striking a Bochur in the head this afternoon, Sunday. The Bochur sustained deep cuts and lacerations to his head, requiring multiple stitches to control the bleeding. This was the second violent act of the day, Sunday afternoon alone, where Jewish boys were the target of vicious assaults.

Jewish Boy Assaulted by Black Gang

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A group of Black teens viciously assaulted a Jewish boy on Lefferts Avenue this afternoon, Sunday. The incident took place in front of the Shul Bais Eliyahu Nochum, which is between Albany and Troy Avenues. A Jewish boy was sitting on the steps of the shul waiting for his father, when a group of 6 or 7 Black teens threw a football directly at him; the group then surrounded and assaulted the young boy. According to the victim, he received at least two punches from each of his attackers.

Motzai Shabbos Rash of Airbag Thefts

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Two cars on one block were broken into and had their airbags stolen overnight between Motzai Shabbos and Sunday. The incident took place on Crown Street between Albany and Kingston Avenues, and the cars hit were a Honda Pilot and Accord.

Rabbi in Costume Helps Bust Shul House Rocker

BROOKLYN, NY — Cops nabbed a man they’d wanted for repeatedly breaking into a Brooklyn Heights synagogue over the past few months, finally delivering the congregation from torment by the burglar — and it couldn’t have happened on a more auspicious day.

Rabbi Aaron Raskin, who heads congregation B’nai Avraham, was preparing for Purim, a holiday that celebrates another long-ago deliverance, on March 10, when police told him that they had cornered the suspect as he loitered on Henry Street, between Pierrepont and Clark streets.

Already in costume for his shul’s annual holiday festivities, Raskin hopped into the squad car and positively identified the suspect.

Shot to Death on President St

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — On Tuesday at about 6pm, while Jewish residents were celebrating Purim around Crown Heights. Police entered a President St apartment to find a black woman shot. It all started when police received a call regarding someone unconscious inside 1677 President St, Apt 16, corner Utica Ave.

Purim Assault – Bochurim Beaten

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — At around 8:30pm tonight, Tuesday; two Israeli bochurim were assaulted on Albany Ave and Crown St. Both bochurim were beaten and sustained injuries all about their bodies, BH nothing serious.

Shomrim Assist in Apprehending Shoplifter, Police Let Her Go – Again

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — She is a familiar face, she shoplifted from another store just a few days before and on Thursday she was at it again. An alert pharmacy employee noticed her taking a number of items and stuffing them into her backpack. She then walked over to the front counter, picked up a prescription and made for the door. As she fled the store the theft deterrent alarm went off.
