Brooklyn blogger Chrissie Brodigan claimed Officer Joel Witriol went ballistic when he saw her take her pug, Dempsey, out of her purse in violation of subway regulations at around 5:30 p.m. Monday. She said he cuffed her, insulted her and roughed her up.
Subway Rider Roughed Up by Hasidic Cop Made Anti-Semitic Slurs
BROOKLYN, NY — The city’s first Hasidic cop was excoriated in a anti-Semitic rant by a dog-loving subway passenger who allegedly refused to place her sick pet in an animal carrier, sources and a witness said yesterday.
Brooklyn blogger Chrissie Brodigan claimed Officer Joel Witriol went ballistic when he saw her take her pug, Dempsey, out of her purse in violation of subway regulations at around 5:30 p.m. Monday. She said he cuffed her, insulted her and roughed her up.
But a witness, Viane Delgado, said Brodigan was the one out of line. Delgado said Witriol “repeatedly” asked the woman to place the barking pug in a carrier she had. But instead, she allegedly insulted him with anti-Semitic slurs and tried to walk away.
“You f—ing Jew, you’re not even human,” Delgado quoted Brodigan as saying.
She repeatedly said, “Jewish people think they own everything,” a source said.
But Brodigan denied that account.
“I don’t remember saying anything anti-Semitic,” she said. “I do remember saying, ‘Clearly, you have trouble with women.’ I probably called him an a–hole.”
According to her account, Witriol “said he needed to talk to me” as she was ascending a staircase at the L-line Bedford Avenue station.
“He pushed me against the wall and said, ‘I need your name and ID.’ ”
Brodigan, 32, said that when she told Witriol she had left her wallet at work, things turned ugly.
“He pushed me against the wall and said, ‘If you’re gonna act like a woman, I’m gonna treat you like a woman,’ ” said Brodigan.
The blogger denied she had a carrying case with her and said her dog suffers from a health condition that causes it to overheat.
She claims that when she started to walk away, “he handcuffed my wrist, pushed me against the wall, punched me in the back and kicked me in the shin.”
She also claimed Witriol at one point put his hands on her breasts.
Melissa Randazzo, 29, another witness, backed up Brodigan’s story.
“His tone was really alarming,” Randazzo said of Witriol. “The girl looked scared. She didn’t look like someone who would get into trouble. Something didn’t seem right about this situation.”
Witriol’s family would not comment on the case last night.
The NYPD said that there’s no record of any impropriety on the part of Witriol and that Brodigan was given a summons for failing to identify herself and for not having a dog in a proper container.
A police source said Brodigan was belligerent and argumentative.
Brodigan claimed the cop took away her pug and threatened he’d have it “put down.”

If the dog had a health condition that causes it to overheat, why did she have it in her purse? Sounds like she’s lying. He should carry something on him to record incidents-there are plenty of nuts out there who would love to accuse Jews of things.

Every university in Western Civilization, in its ”Comparative Religion“ courses, includes at least one reading by so-called ”feminists“ declaring how supposedly ”oppressive“ Orthodox Judaism is to women.
As a BT, I spent years thinking that was accurate; I had no idea that it was just anti-Jewish stereotyping based on either an on-purpose attempt to make the Torah life look bad, or at least a huge set of misunderstandings by someone who doesn’t really understand our beautiful ways.
This dog owner’s comment, that ”clearly you have a problem with women,” is just another bigoted rant!!!!

Chrissie Brodigan’s stories keep changing. She is trying to paint herself as a victim and in her most recent storytelling neglects an awful lot of the facts which she’d previously admitted. She has admitted here and on her other sites (which she’s since deleted – wonder why?) that:
– She was verbally abusive to the police officer. She admits to calling him an “a__hole” as part of her diatribe of insults.
– She now claims to have had a panic attack.
– She ‘doesnt remember’ if she hurled anti-Semitic insults at the officer. She said this many times, and now ‘remembers’ that she did not. Uh huh.
– She admits to resisting arrest, sits on the floor to avoid arrest and then claims brutality because her upper arms have small bruises – bruises which were caused by her forcing the officers to lift her from the floor.
– She claimed “he MAY have been excessive”. So, maybe that didn’t happen. And maybe he wasn’t excessive.
– She now spins this into an anti-woman thing and sends her story and photos to a feminist blog. Anti-woman, because after calling the police officer an ‘a__hole’, refusing all of his instructions, being aggressive and belligerent – he had the nerve to ask her TO BEHAVE LIKE A LADY. Gasp – that’ll set back the cause a few hundred years, huh ladies?
– Earlier in the day, she claimed to have been injured by other inmates who punched her and spit on her in jail. (Bringing into question where she got any of her alleged injuries.) This was all forgotten by the time she was on TV.

I heard this woman interviewed by Ron Reagan today ( The Ron Reagan Show, Air America Radio .) She contradicts herself many times but most reveling was her acknowledgment that she did state “…I don’t recall saying anything anti-semitic…”
Most people that wouldn’t say such a thing would immediately and clearly protest that they didn’t, and, more importantly, would make clear that they would *never* say such a thing. If she doesn’t remember, she can’t say that she didn’t. Remember, she doesn’t remember.
Obviously this little girl had a public tantrum. Abused a police officer and the rules of the subway system. Didn’t have any ID ( which all adults are expected to carry .) Made a scene, got busted, then tried to spin the whole incident with her as a victim, as a dog owner, a woman and a non-jew.
