CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A Jewish man was assaulted yesterday, Wednesday evening next to his garage where he stores bikes for his local Gemach. The incident took place in the alley on New York Ave, between Montgomery and Crown St, less then a block from the 71st precinct. Three black males threw glass bottles and rocks at him in attempt to scare him off and get the bikes.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A Jewish man was assaulted yesterday, Wednesday evening next to his garage where he stores bikes for his local Gemach. The incident took place in the alley on New York Ave, between Montgomery and Crown St, less then a block from the 71st precinct. Three black males threw glass bottles and rocks at him in attempt to scare him off and get the bikes.

The Police responded and were able to apprehend all the perps involved.

Yoske Straussberg, who runs the garage and stores many bikes there, sustained some moderate hand and stomach injuries and was treated by Hatzalah on the scene.

    what time did this happen? we saw a couple very suspicious looking teenagers there at 10:30 pm and may be able to help identify them!

    yosske is the man his gmach is amazing and he helps people out with buying and gets great deals and gives a great service with a smile – yosske do not be deterred keep up the good work!!

    we all need to help him out with funds for more bikes and maybe some security by his garage this is a worthy cause run by a really special guy – support him, support us!!

    Yoskeh is a solid guy. He’s ALWAYS around to help people, no matter what it is. Whether it’s the Bike Gemach or something else… I heard that whenever he moves a shliach to his Makom Hashlichus (he has a moving company called – what else, but – YOSKE’S) he charges them just to cover costs, just because he wants to help out… He and his lovely wife Batshva have hundreds (literaly) of guests at their shabbos table… WEEKLY!!!

    Then again, if all he knows to do is throw bottles and rocks, I can’t fathom why he’d bother doing the weights!

    YOSKE IS ONE HEDK OF A LUCKY GUY THAT SO MANY PEOPLE CAME TO HIS AID. THAT IS 100% MORE THAN HE DID FOR ONE OF HIS OWN WORKERS WHO WAS ARRESTED FOR YOSKE’S PROBLEM.
