Man Arrested for Assault on Elderly Jewish Man

A 72-year-old Jewish man was assaulted earlier this morning as he was walking on Kingston Avenue. The assailant then went on to threaten both Jewish and non-Jewish passersby that he would “kill them all.” The incident is being investigated as a possible hate crime.

MyShliach Hosts Volunteer Appreciation Evening

Crown Heights Landlord Convicted of ‘Harassment’

In the first ever such criminal investigation pursued by the State of New York, an Orthodox-Jewish Crown Heights landlord was convicted of “harassing” his tenants by failing to consistently provide them with heat and hot water, and by performing unsanctioned renovations to the building. He faces up to a year in jail.

Chabad.org Wins First-Place Photography Award

The American Jewish Press Association has announced that Chabad.org and photographer Mendel Benhamou have won the first-place Simon Rockower Award for Excellence in Photography for work done in 2016.
