Darchei Students Take Daily Tzedaka to the Next Level

Rabbi Zalman Friedman’s 7th grade class at Darchei Menachem doesn’t just start the day with giving Tzedaka, the simple yet deeply meaningful act has taken on a life of its own. At the beginning of each month, the boys vote for a local charity that will benefit from the funds collected, then proudly display their “receipts” on their bulletin board in an award-like setting. This month, they chose the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn.

19-Year-Old Letter is More Relevant Than Ever

As we enter the summer months, we share with our readers a letter written to Mrs. Shaindel Teichtel 19 years ago by mother of a then high school girl who was a peer and friend, herself a renowned Crown Heights educator, after she expressed grave concern to her on the level of Tznius in the local girls’ schools and in the wider community. Every word of the letter is still relevant today.

Camp Staff to Join Together for Training Event

This Thursday, multiple training sessions for CGI counselors and staff will be held in Crown Heights. The event will feature a select variety of professionals, who will address key issues and provide practical advice to make camp a meaningful and impactful experience for both camper and camp counselor.
