Alternate side parking (street cleaning) regulations will be suspended Thursday, February 12, for Lincoln’s Birthday. All other regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect.

Window Shattered at Kosher Restaurant in London
The front window of Orli Café, a kosher dairy restaurant in Edgeware, London, has just been shattered. Patrons of the restaurant reported that they heard a very loud band, and then saw the shattered window. Fearful that it was a shooting, they all immediately ducked for cover.

Jewish Woman Killed in Ukraine; Rockets Hit Near Shul
A Jewish woman, an employee of the local Chabad pre-school, was killed in the separatist stronghold of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine overnight by a rocket that slammed into her apartment. Other rockets landed and exploded near the city’s main synagogue.
Chabad Center to Brings Judaism to Dutch Countryside
This past Sunday, a grand opening was held for a new Chabad House in Almere, Holland. Almere is the capital city of the province of Flevoland, and the new Chabad center is the only Jewish institution in the region.

Christians Donate $650,000 to Jewish Communities in Eastern Ukraine
The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews pledged $650,000 in emergency funding for Jews in the battle zones of eastern Ukraine. The funding will ensure thousands of food and medicine packages, as well as three months of operating soup kitchens and providing security for Jewish synagogues and institutions in Donetsk, Lugansk and Mariupol.

Hatzalah volunteers in New York, on the other hand, boast an average response time of just 4 minutes.
200 Gather in Cleveland to Combat Child Abuse
200 members of Cleveland’s orthodox Jewish community gathered on Sunday night to hear from abuse survivors, mental health professionals, and legal experts, in a “Night of Awareness and Education” about CSA. The event was organized by Jewish Community Watch (JCW), an organization committed to raising awareness of and preventing CSA in the orthodox Jewish community. The standing-room only crowd included survivors, parents of small children, and community leaders.

Garbage Truck Goes Up in Flames on Empire Blvd.
A garbage truck from Yankels Rubbish went up in flames late Monday night while collecting commercial trash on Empire Boulevard. Police shut down the thoroughfare while the FDNY doused the blaze.
