BDE: Yaakov Yisroel Chairsky, 74, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Yaakov Yisroel Chairsky OBM, a longtime chassid and tomim of the Rebbe and regular member of the Tzemach Tzedek Synagogue and Kolel in Tsfat Ir HaKodesh. He passed away in Tsfat today, Sunday, the 2nd of Adar, from complications of COVID-19.

Obituary: Rabbi Yisroel Rapoport, 55, Beloved Rabbi in New Jersey

Better known as “Raps” or “Bubby” to his many friends and his admirers, Rabbi Yisroel Rapoport was remembered as a beloved rabbi who was “always reaching out to others with bubbling enthusiasm and love.” He lived his life in service of others as rabbi of Congregation Sons of Jacob in Vineland, N.J., and as co-director with his wife, Nechama, of Chabad-Lubavitch of Cumberland County. He passed away on Feb. 3 at the age of 55.

JEM: A Heavenly Send Off For Shliach To Italy

Earlier today, on Shabbos Rosh Chodesh Adar, 5781, Rabbi Gershon Mendel Garelik, the Rebbe’s Shliach to Italy, passed away. Chabad Chasidim around the world mourned the passing of the iconic Shliach, who – together with his wife Bassie, may she be well – personified the first generation of the Rebbe’s Shluchim.
