This morning at around 9:00, Sholom Meir Hecht was walking near his home on Union St. between Kingston and Albany Ave., when he was accosted by three African-American teenagers who demanded – and received – his cell phone.
An Israeli Bochur reported to the police that he was mugged at gunpoint by three assailants early this morning on President Street. The attackers were described as three Black males who allegedly shouted racial slurs while attacking him.

Some time last night, the windows to this Beis Rivka School bus were smashed. The bus is kept in the Crown St. parking lot which is protected by razor tipped fence and and locked gates. The only way to get into the parking lot is through the school itself, so it’s likely that the vandals were some rowdy children from the community who were attending an event in the school hall.
A Jewish man walking down Albany Avenue today witnesses the attempted mugging of a Hispanic woman by an African-American man near the corner of Crown Street. While the woman held steadfastly to her possessions, he ran over to help, causing the perpetrator to flee.
An African-American man in his late 40s was shot point blank in the head in the lobby of an apartment building on the corner of Empire Blvd. and Nostrand Ave. He died on the spot.
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — In Lefferts Park today, a 12-year-old black boy was the victim of a vicious assault. A group of Jewish men who witnesses the beating came to his aid.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — On Wednesday morning Shomrim received a call alerting them to a man who had stolen a sack of onions from Hadar Hatorah on Eastern Parkway. A confrontation on Kingston led to the discovery of a stolen pair of Tefillin and an assault earlier that morning. The man was hospitalized in a mental care unit.
In a shocking incident this morning, a 14-year-old boy was hit by a rogue driver and was left to fend for himself. Although he was quite possibly the victim of a hate crime, the police showed no interest in pursuing the perpetrator and bringing him to justice.
Crown Heights [CHI] — At around 6:00 PM today, an employee at Kingston Bake Shop spotted two African-American teenagers breaking into a Jewish-owned vehicle on Crown St. between Kingston and Brooklyn Ave. When they realized they were seen, the teens fled down Kingston Avenue toward Montgomery Street.
Crown Heights [CHI] — Three teenagers were arrested Tuesday evening after being followed by a group of vigilant Shomrim volunteers who witnessed them kick in a window and break into a home on President Street.
