Out-Of-Town Shliach Nabs Burglar, Shomrim Reunites Victim with Teffilin

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A Shliach from out of town on his way to the Hey Teves Farbrengen, was walking on East New York Avenue when he spotted a Black man carrying a Tallis and Teffilin bag. Without pause he snatched it from the man and a struggle and commotion ensued.

NYPD Investigating Officers After Video Surfaces

According to a report from the New York Times, the NYPD Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating two police officers, Luis A. Vega (24891) and Yelena Bruzzese (9139) – both of whom are assigned to the 71st Precinct, following CrownHeights.info’s release of a video showing the two officers brutally attacking Ehud Halevi. Vega has been placed on modified duty, while Bruzzese has not.
