A Jewish man walking down Albany Avenue today witnesses the attempted mugging of a Hispanic woman by an African-American man near the corner of Crown Street. While the woman held steadfastly to her possessions, he ran over to help, causing the perpetrator to flee.

A Jewish man walking down Albany Avenue today witnesses the attempted mugging of a Hispanic woman by an African-American man near the corner of Crown Street. While the woman held steadfastly to her possessions, he ran over to help, causing the perpetrator to flee.
The man called Shomrim and together they pursued the criminal, but he managed to get away.
When they returned to the crime scene with the intention of filing a police report, they discovered that the woman had also disappeared. It is likely that, being an undocumented immigrant, she was afraid to talk to the police.
Shomrim then advised the Police to move their ‘command center’ to the area of the crime, although none had been reported, where it would be much more effective than its previous location on Kingston Ave. The police obliged and relocated the command center.

so that’s why a police truck is outside the Yeshiva.
Times are hard when the criminals have no qualms about mugging people on busy corners in the middle of the day.

Police officers walking around the neighborhood and actually patrolling would be a lot more effective than parking an oversize police car on a corner after the the fact.

Chalila (what a great name!) & his cronies are the reason why crime is up in CH. This Capt Lewis doesn’t seem to be any more interested in the welfare of Jewish residents than Simonetti was. Has he shown his face in the community since going to 770? There is more to Crown Heights than 770 with all its wackos. What about residential streets? Stores? Schools? How about knocking on MY door & talking to ME?
How I miss Capt. Fox. Now he was a real cop who cared & he was accessible. I spoke to him on many occasions, even asking to see him in the precinct. If he was there, he was available. Times sure have changed!

Why say the perp was an African American? First of all, just because he was black does not mean he was African American. Maybe he was Caribbean American; there are a lot of them in our neighborhood. Secondly, when was the last time a perp in this neighborhood wasn’t black? THEY’RE ALWAYS BLACK! So much black crime, so many black crime victims (many black themselves), but what is the black community and their “civil rights” leaders and “activists” concerned with and fixated on? The Treyvon Martin case! They’ll NEVER learn.
