A hulking man walked into Benz's Fish shop on Albany Avenue and walked out with $35 that was not his. He stole it. How he did it is what's disturbing, and Benz's shared this video with our readers as a warning for the public and other shopkeepers.

A hulking man walked into Benz’s Fish shop on Albany Avenue and walked out with $35 that was not his. He stole it. How he did it is what’s disturbing, and Benz’s shared this video with our readers as a warning for the public and other shopkeepers.

According to the cashier, the man, an extremely large African-American in his 30’s or 40’s, approached the counter with two items that he wished to return to the store, but he did not have a receipt. Naturally the cashier refused.

The thief did not relent and made a convincing plea and duped the store into giving him $35.

But the incident did not sit well and a quick review of the surveillance cameras revealed that his suspicions were correct and he had just been robbed.

“I want to alert other store owners and residents to be careful and be wary of this man” said Yoni Raskin.

    Notice that the store clerk talks on his cell phone at 0:52 in the video, for a moment. That’s all it takes to get distracted. That’s when the colored man got the advantage.

    If a store worker gets distracted while standing behind a counter traveling at 0 miles an hour, just think of the danger of talking on your cell phone while driving down a busy street at 30 miles an hour with pedestrains meandering into the street, and other cars cutting across lanes, etc.!!

    First off he was not robbed… he was duped or conned. If more time was spent serving and watching customers then talking on the cell phone this would be prevented.

    There is a huge BLACK criminal element in Crown Heights.

    We need to be aware of them and deal with them very severely when they steal or do damage to our property.

    Not all blacks are street criminals, but all street criminals are black.

    We are not taught to see any spark of holiness in those who do not follow the 7 Mitzvos Bnei Noach. One of those mitzvos is to establish a legal system, and those of us who are victimized by bnei Cham ben Noach are obliged to get the perps into the legal system so they don’t hurt others.

    This is a common theft/fraud tactic and it happens all the time. Anyone who runs any kind of retail establishement needs to be aware of this, and I’m actually surprised anyone could stay in business for long without knowing about this kind of thing. Every shop should have a strict “no receipt no refund” policy–sure, if it’s your next-door neighbor and you know him, you can make a rare exception–and when necessary you can offer store credit/exchanges. Giving out cash without a receipt will lead to more and more of this happening–the perpetrator will go tell his friends about the soft target, and they’ll come in and try the same thing. Store owners/workers–know what’s going on and don’t let yourself become a victim.
    To #4: your racism is a terrible chillul haShem. It makes me feel sorry for you, and B”H you’ll learn to judge individuals by their actions and not by the color of their skin alone.

Granted, a huge percentage of the blacks who live in the GHETTO, in this case crown heights, will steal anything that isn’t nailed down. They are not the only blacks in the world.
