New Guidelines for Private Schools, Six Hours of Secular Studies a Day
The NYS Education Department released guidelines about equivalency of instructions that nonpublic schools are required to provide. In the guidelines, it would appear that a required five to six hours would need to be provided for secular studies a day.

Stop Smearing Yeshivas: They Provide Quality Education
In Sundays edition of the New York Daily News, Avi Schick, a lawyer and a former New York Deputy Attorney General who is representing the targeted yeshivas, points out a “false note” in the letter from the Department of Education alleging that they were denied access to some yeshivas, and goes on to clarify that those yeshivas do not receive government funding.

Police have arrested Abraham Samotin, a 26 year old Jewish man from Crown Heights, for luring and committing a heinous assault against a 5-year-old girl – the very same day he was released from jail after an arrest for felony burglary.

James Vincent, the man who was arrested in connection with the brutal and hate-fueled attack on Menachem Moskowitz nearly a month ago, was indicted today on a litany of charges including strangulation and assault as a hate crime. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
