Berlin Chabad Hosts Rosh Hashanah in Outdoors

Shortly before Rosh Hashana began, Chabad of Berlin inaugurated Germany’s first open-air synagogue in its courtyard in the presence of media representatives. This was in response to the needs of the Jewish community during pandemic times and, with an additional synagogue, made it possible to regulate the flow of visitors during the high holidays according to distance regulations.

Obituary: Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg, 89, Teacher and Guide to Thousands

Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg, who passed away on Aug. 20 at the age of 89, was a Torah scholar of the highest caliber, whose devotion to Torah transcended communal boundaries and political affiliation, teaching in institutions whose affiliation ran the gamut from Chassidic to Religious Zionist.

Rabbi Chaim and Aidel Zaklos, co-directors of Chabad of Solano County in Vacaville, Calif., have been trying to help those in their community who have lost homes or have had their properties significantly damaged by a fire that tore through the outskirts of their community.
