New York State’s mandated closure of summer camps just days before the summer season was a tough pill for camps and kids alike. But Camp Emunah will not close it’s doors for the summer season, instead, it’s moving camp grounds.
Close to 50 boys from grades four to seven are lucky enough to be joining the wide range of activities, from ziplining and daily clubs to challah baking and late night ice cream parties at the CKids Gan Yisroel overnight camp in Florida.
After receiving the news that its overnight camp was not to be this year, Gan Yisroel Parksville immediately began plans to create a day camp for the boys. The news was announced in a letter to parents.
Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont signed an executive order prohibiting resident camps (sleep away camps) for this summer. The order signed last night effectively closes Camp Chomeish, the one Lubavitch overnight camp that had announced its plans to open.

The week started off in the Turkey basketball where campers prepared to leave camp due to numerous code violations, when in fact it was a breakout for color war! Teams Tevia and the winning team of Kmoso battled it out through the plays and skits, from MBP to cheering, from the beginning this was a hard fought battle. The fun filled week included a visit to the Ohel, and the sad moment when the campers had to say goodbye.
As CGI Florida completed their 13th summer, the campers and staff posed for group and bunk photos.
On the final Friday of the summer, campers and staff gathered to mark camp’s Bar Mitzvah year by celebrating the achievements of all campers as part their 13th annual MBP Award ceremony.
As summer of 5779 is coming quickly coming to a close camp Emunah girls got together to take a camp photo with Rebetzin Hecht at their helm. Camp Emunah Founded by the late Rabbi Yaakov Yehudah Hecht and YBME”C his wife Rebetzin Chave Hecht with the Bracha from the Rebbe. Camp Emunah in its 67th summer continues to be the leader in camping in the world of Lubavitch.
In honor of the completion of the daily Rambam cycle, a program the Rebbe started which unites all Jews, Camp Gan Yisroel invited Camp Lman Achai for a day of unity and fun.
After 10 years since the last annual Siyum Harambam took place in the middle of camp, YSP’s ever dedicated staff did it again. This Siyum was one that the Talmidim would never forget.
Last Sunday, the Gan Yisroel family joined together with Rabbi Yerachmiel Jacobson to dedicate a new staff zal in Gan Yisroel Parksville. The zal was dedicated in honor of his father Rabbi Betzalel Jacobson A”H.

From Melbourne to Toronto, campers and staff alike enjoyed a 45-minute program the day before Gimel Tammuz to connect with and learn from the Rebbe. A talk of the Rebbe, a collage of children with the Rebbe, and a presentation of niggunim performed by Eli Marcus and Fitche Benshimon, all made for an impactful, enjoyable and inspirational Connection Point program.
