Mother & Child Struck by Reversing Minivan

Brooklyn, NY — This afternoon at around 1:30pm a mother was crossing East New York Ave. between Kingston and Brooklyn and was struck and injured by a reversing Minivan. The mother, who was holding her infant baby girl in an ‘Infant Carrier’ on the way to her car, was suddenly struck by a minivan that was reversing.

Hatzalah Member Involved in Serious Accident

Brooklyn, NY – At around 5:00pm yesterday, Sunday afternoon a very serious accident took place at the intersection of Remsen and Avenue B. Eye witnesses say that they had observed the Hatzalah member driving at outrageous speeds before blowing through the intersection without slowing down for the red light and collided with a red Lexus.

Tragedy: Young Mother Killed in a Horrific Accident – Mrs. Sarah Rosen OBM

Adirondack Northway, NY — It is with great pain and sorrow we report the very untimely passing of Mrs. Shterna Sara Rosen OBM, wife of Rabbi Dovid Rosen, who serves as the Rosh Yeshiva of the Yeshiva Ketana Chabad of Baltimore, and is the daughter of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Levkifker, one of the heads of the Chabad Yeshiva of Tsfat.

The tragic accident occurred in the northbound lanes of the Adirondack Northway (I-87) at Exit 35. The family was on their way back from spending Shabbos in Montreal, Canada to their home in Baltimore, MD. The mother, Mrs. Rosen passed away from her injuries at the scene of the accident and one of the children were rushed to the hospital suffering from critical injuries while the father, R. Dovid and the two other children didn’t sustain any life threatening injuries.

The New York State Police said that the apparent cause for this terrible accident was the harsh weather conditions, which caused the families car to slip off the roadway.

The Levaya will take place Today, Monday in front of 770 at around 5:15 on its way to Israel for burial.

Drunk Driver Rolls His SUV on Eastern Parkway

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — At 6:50 this evening pedestrians witnessed a very wild scene on Eastern Parkway when a SUV lost control and rolled over about 3 times, according to witnesses and came to rest on a parked car and a tree on the other side of the ‘island’.

Accident Leaves Car Tangled in Gate on Empire

Brooklyn, NY — At around 6:45am this morning there was a three car accident in the intersection of Empire Blvd and Troy Ave. The incident began when a cabbie rear ended an Infinity sedan causing it to loose control and hit a parked SUV and bounce off it into a gate where the car came to rest.

Police Involved in Car Crash

Brooklyn, NY – About an hour before the second days of Yom Tov began there was an accident in the intersection of Kingston and Montgomery. The incident took place on Sunday at around 5:30pm when Police Officers were responding to a call on Kingston and Union involving a possible Emotionally Disturbed Person [EDP].

The Police cruiser was heading up Kingston Ave and struck a Black Honda Accord that was crossing the intersection on Montgomery causing it to spin and strike a parked SUV. One patient, the driver of the Honda was complaining of back and neck pains and was transported by EMS to Kings County Hospital. The officers did not sustain any injuries.

2 Yidden Involved in a Bad Accident

On the corner of Carroll and Troy two cars collided, a black Infinity G35 sedan and a silver Oldsmobile Silhouette Minivan, both driven by members of Anash. One of the cars took a red but from witness statements no one was sure who did.

Student Driver Hits Parked Car

Brooklyn, NY — A 16 year old girl behind the wheel of a car for her very first time swerved and struck a parked car. The incident took place this past Tuesday on Albany and Crown, the student driver was getting her first lesson with ‘Prestige’ driving school. The driving instructor, Mr. Hughes told CrownHeights.info that he didn’t even have time to react and the driver had already hit the parked car.

Both cars sustained damage but no one was injured, police were called and an accident report had been filled out.

Car Strikes a Fire Engine responding to an Emergency

Brooklyn, NY — At around 8:20pm Wednesday evening Engine 234 & Ladder 123 of the St. Johns East station house were responding to an emergency, Engine 234 had cleared the intersection of Schenectady and President when it was struck by a black Infinity G35 in the rear of the rig.

The driver of the Infinity was a male black around 16 to 17 years old and was driving with just his learners permit in a car which did not belong to him, he was written up a few summonses and was transported by FDNY EMS to Kings County Hospital. None of the Fire Fighters on the Engine that was struck were injured.

Bochur Injured in a Hit & Run on Eastern Parkway

On Sunday at around 9:00pm a Bochur (19) attempted to cross Eastern Parkway near the intersection of Albany Ave and was struck by a passing vehicle, which did not stop. The Bochur tried to make his way to a bench but lost consciousness. Hatzalah was called and responded immediately and transported to Kings County Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Another driver who witnessed the Hit & Run followed the car and got his license plate number, and gave it to police. They are investigating.

Car Skids Into Parked Cars on Crown Street

Last week Wednesday at around 5:00pm a white Cadillac driven by a 16 year old who only had a ‘Learners Permit’ rather then a Drivers License, attempted to make a right turn from Albany onto Crown and smashed into a parked Subaru and pushed it up onto the sidewalk and into three other parked cars. Witnesses stated that he had tried to take the turn at a high rate of speed.

3 Car Pile-Up LITERALLY!

At approximately 7:30 this morning, Tuesday, and Fire Engine driving on Brooklyn Ave hit car driving on Union St and lost control, went on a rampage and caused a lot of damage.

The FDNY Ladder truck, which had its light and sirens on, responding to a situation on Kingston ave, was taking the red light on the corner of Brooklyn ave and Union St, when the car tried to sneak through. The truck then struck the car and lost control, crashed into a bunch of parked cars. The truck damaged approximately nine vehicles in total.

Violent Head-On Collision on Eastern Parkway

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Moments after Shabbos ended and Eastern Parkway filled with residents walking home from Shul an SUV and a Minivan collided head on and both vehicles ended up on two parts of the sidewalk.

The incident took place on Eastern Parkway and Brooklyn Ave where apparently one car attempted to make a turn onto Brooklyn into oncoming traffic. Luckily there was no one walking on the sidewalks where the cars ended up. The driver of the SUV along with passengers were taken by EMS to a local hospital, none had any life threatening injuries.

3 Car Accident on Albany Ave

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Yesterday at about midnight a car driven by a Jewish woman was rear ended by a shuttle van on Albany Ave, between Crown and Montgomery St. The woman was driving a Mercury Sable down Albany Ave, when a Lincoln Town car made a short stop when somebody suddenly opened the door of a parked car. The woman tried slowing down, but a Shuttle van rear ended her and sent her skidding into the Town car.

Baruch Hashem there was no serious injuries. The Jewish woman was taken to the hospital by Hatzala as a precaution.

Hatzalah’s CH-1 Involved in an Accident

Friday night at around 3:00am Hatzalahs newest ambulance ‘CH-1’ was involved in an accident while transporting a patient to Methodist Hospital. The accident took place on Eastern Parkway and New York Ave at around 3:00am, the ambulance was en route to the hospital and made a left turn from New York Ave onto Eastern Pkwy and a Toyota of an unknown model came down the parkway at a high rate of speed and struck the ambulance.

The ambulance took significant damage to its rear on the driver’s side, while the other took heavy damage to its front end. The driver of the Toyota refused medical attention at first but at the end submitted to treatment from EMS workers that responded to the incident. One of Hatzalahs other ambulances, CH-3, responded and continued the transport of the patient.

12 Year Old Girl Struck By an SUV in Critical Condition

At around 4:45pm in the afternoon a 12 year old girl was on her way home and was struck by a fast moving SUV on the corner of Empire Blvd and Troy Ave. The SUV, a late model Jeep Grand Cherokee came barreling down Empire from Schenectady driven by a Black woman, struck the young girl with great force and sent her flying across the entire Boulevard into the oncoming traffic lanes.

Many bystanders called 911 and Hatzalah who arrived on scene immediately and began treating the girl who did not loose consciousness from the impact. She was immediately transported to Kings County Hospital where she was listen in critical condition, she sustained an alarming number of injuries including two broken arms and a complicated break in one of her legs and possibly more, all this came along with trauma all over and bruising and scratches as well.
