One witness stated, “The truck came barreling down the road and threw the van into the air…”
A number of news agencies were on scene reporting on this; most notably Fox News aired it live on Good Morning America.
There were a few injuries, BH nothing serious.

Did you mean:
1)Does anyone have a heart?
2)“Anyone, Heart” is a person that was.
3)You’re looking for a donor for a heart.
4)As any, one he art? (old english)
5)Did anyone lose a heart?
6)Anyone WAS heart, but not anymore.
7)You learnt Al Ta’aros Hakoidesh and you meant “Did anyone get hurt?”. Which would make sense since you didn’t notice “There were a few injuries, BH nothing serious.”

Trees add oxygen to our already poluted air. Those cars that make breathing so hard in the schuna deserved it but what did the tree do wrong?

Thanks for all your concern about the vehicles and the jews who own them… it’s quite clear where most of your priorities lie.
By the way, all six firefighters involved, along with a monther and child ALL sustained (minor?) injuries in this horrible accident, according to other news outlets.
Not to mention that your neighborhood is now afforded less reliable fire protection, as the ladder company involved will have to use an old “reserve” truck.
Think about it, and maybe take a second to THANK your local firefighters, EMT’s/paramedics, and police officers who risk their lives for you every time they leave their families to come to work protecting your family and your neighborhood. Over one hundred firefighters are killed in the line of duty every year in the United States, and motor vehicle accidents account for a large percentage or their deaths.

These photos are fantastic!!! Thank you!
Please note that the accidents that have happened over the last two months are a Crown Heights community issue, not just a jewish issue. Thank Almighty that their were no fatalites. You have to remember the number of children (African/Carribean-American & Jewish) who walk along that street just to get to school and parents who park their cars before taking the train to work.
I hope that we can work collectively on making those corners safe.

Hey Webby,
It’s Mouse from Engine 280. Great shot’s. FYI Ladder 123 was on it’s way to a phone alarm for a report of a fire

Credit is given where it is due.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it to this spectacular accident at 7:30am (something about having a hard time getting up so early) as so Techie filled in for me and gave us these amazing pictures.
Thank you Techie!

So much for aggressive drivers who use fire engines as their own personal path to bypass traffic.
No one will, of course, learn anything from this even. Boruch Hashem no one was seriously injured, but that doesn’t give anyone the excuse to play ”chicken” with emergency vehicles.
For you information, people, all these large vehicles do NOT have good steering response as modern cars do. They are cumbersome and cannot get out of their own way when they’re barreling down the street trying to get to an emergency.
Problem is, everyone is used to vehicles that are responsive and think that these big trucks can maneuver like you can. They can’t. And when they lose control, they will take the least impact when they crash into things.
The same is true for school buses. School bus drivers drive like they’re in a Ferrari and those lumbering vehicles cannot handle their way out of a paper bag. The worst invention for these things was the automatic transmission. When the driver had to shift those grinding cumbersome gears, they alway had to slow down. Now they just hit the gas and careen down small residential streets at unsafe speeds. SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS: SLOW DOWN!!!!!
Thank to all!
FDNY NYPD SHOMRIM and CROWNHEIGHTS.info THANK YOU!!!! May g-d bless you and protect you!

I drive the engine for that firehouse and I can t tell you how many times people don t give us the right of way or just freeze up..move to your right and let us thru..having to blast my horn at cars that don t comply isn t fun..people that are waiting for us to save them at a fire or cardiac arrest deserve the best response we can give them..It could be you that needs us next time.and one more thing stay off the hydrants..they are no standing ANYTIME..brooklyn ave is tight and visibility from union ,president is terrible..thank god no one was seriously injured,as for the jewish car owners you can replace your car but you can t replace your life!..nice photos ..its alot easier for you to stop your car then it is for me to stop my firetruck..listen for the sirens ,stay alert..thanks
NO1HOME!
HEY YOSSEL WHY DON’T YOU WRITE DOWN YOUR ADDRESS , SO WHEN WE RESPOND TO A FIRE AT YOUR HOUSE (with people trapped) WE CAN FOLLOW ALL THE TRAFFIC LAWS.
P.S. WHEN YOU HEAR SIRENS PULL OVER!
Very upset
I just don’t get it you only care if it was a jew who got hurt non jews are also people. For that man from boro park and for mw I think you should think before you write because this is not fun action maybe it should happen to you and you can say how fun it was in the hospital.
Yossel

No1Home: I was NOT saying that emergency vehicles should follow all the traffic laws. I was cricitizing DRIVERS who do not yield (and get out of the way) when fire trucks are on an emergency call.
Furthermore, the right to suspend traffic laws is frequently abused by Cops and Ambulance drivers. I’ve seen private ambulance automobiles barrel through lights, sirens screaming, only to find the driver parked on another block, smoking a cigarette and shmoozing with his friends. None of them appeared to be on any life-saving mission. Cops routingly run red lights at 10 miles per hour, apparently in no rush to get anywhere.
Another time I saw an EMS truck, sirens blaring, pull a car over. The driver of the car had a ”FOR SALE” sign on his vehicle, and the ambulance driver was telling him that he was interested in buying the car! If there was a poor shlemazel heart attack victim in the ambulance, I feel bad for him. Otherwise what the ambulance driver did was totally outrageous. And I stand by what I said about school bus drivers who think that Montgomery Street is the inner lane of the Indiannapolis 500 speedway…Yossel

To Another Brother and the all of Crown Heghts:
Let’s take time to thank G-D that no one was hurt say a bit of Tehillim or a prayer. We should also thank NYFD, NYPD and Hatzolah. We are ALL G-Ds children. I pray for all those hurt in the accident. Being a west coast transplant to CH, I have never seen so much tention between people. Another Brother, not all of us think the same. You made some good points and maybe it is time nieghbors start acting like nieghbors and look after each other despite race. Once again let’s thank G-D no one died and let’s ALL drive a little safer.

Hey Shocked. I don’t think the city can afford the cost for insurance to cover the FDNY vehicles.
If they can’t afford the cost to settle the Firefighters long over due contract, they probably can’t buy insurance.
You folks in New York don’t realize your Firefighters wages in comparison to other large cities in the US. They are one of the best Fire Departments in the world and they are treated very unfair from many different angles.
You should stop taking your Firefighters for granted and start speaking out for them. Perhaps you, a citizen of New York, should step up to the plate and supported your Fire Department. Every day these people are saving lives and property. What appreciation do they get?
If the people of New York don’t care about their Firefighters, then why should the City care about them.
Each and every one of you should give more support to all of the Emergency Services in your city. That is the least you can do in return for them putting their lives on the line each and every day for YOU.
lol
i must say that the best comment is from fan of chickens. very cute.

I *really* like chickens.

Yossel,
Yes, some ambulance workers and some police officers will engage in some form of abuse of their lights and sirens, but this probably occurs much less often than you think. You are simply ignorant to what is happening on their end. I will give you a few examples you may not have considered.
1) Ambulance is responding to a call and going through read lights, but halfway to a call an ambulance closer to the scene becomes available. The first ambulance will be canceled and it will look to you like he/she was just abusing their lights by getting through the red lights.
2) Ambulance is responding to a caller who stated they saw someone hit by a car. The driver will respond with every bit of urgency, but often they will get onscene to find that the caller is not there or the person struck has left. Also, very often the injuries are minor and in both cases it appears to you the driver is standing around talking to his “friends” when in fact it was a false call.
3) The police often back each other up on calls. If one officer states they have pulled over a suspicious vehicle, another PD unit will begin to make their way to the location, but will not respond recklessly. So they will slowly proceed through red lights to ensure the safety of NYers. You will often see Fire Trucks doing this same practice. There is an emergency, but they are using their good judgement because another unit is already on scene.
Just remember, the driver does not know if the call is a real one or not, and the driver has no control over if the dispatcher is going to cancel their response. Please try not to be so critical of things you do not understand, especially of the PD, FD, and EMS workers. They are gaining nothing except personal injury risk and lawsuit liability by driving the emergency vehicles to keep your neighborhood safe!

Does everyone ignore the fact that peo[ple today install 200 watt amplifiers in their cars to listen to the noise others call music. How can they hear emergency vehicles with that ear deafening rakcet going on ?Even the big air-horns can’t penetrate that blare.
D D
Hey mac, how ya doin?!!!! Great pics Techie. Also good pics of the fires webby, but be safe.
gumbynyhc
for the person who thinks “ambulance drivers” like to run red lights with their sirens on, you should get the facts straight before you make assumptions. i’m an “ambulance driver” in the south bronx, and considering we spend a big portion of our day trying to get around cars that don’t care whether or not we’re trying to get to an emergency, it’s highly unlikely that we’re going to do it just for fun.
besides the fact that the fdny dispatch board knows when our lights or sirens are turned on, so i doubt an “ambulance driver” is going to risk disciplinary action just to be and have loud noises and big flashing lights. the fact is after running them most of the day , most of us are glad when we don’t have to.
as for “seeing them a block down shmoozing with their friends” you should realize that a big portion of our calls are cancelled en route, or alot of times the jobs are unfounded once we get on scene, and an even bigger portion of the time, the job is nothing once we arrive. just because i think a job might turn out to be nothing i’m still going to proceed as if the job is an emergency until i know otherwise. would you want an ambulance to take 45 minutes to get to you?

Yossel is a moron, he never drove a Ambulance or Fire truck to an emergenc scene. So shut up if you dont know what youre talking about. And stop guessing all what your grand grandmother related you at the last tea time with her friends
