Violent Head-On Collision on Eastern Parkway

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Moments after Shabbos ended and Eastern Parkway filled with residents walking home from Shul an SUV and a Minivan collided head on and both vehicles ended up on two parts of the sidewalk.

The incident took place on Eastern Parkway and Brooklyn Ave where apparently one car attempted to make a turn onto Brooklyn into oncoming traffic. Luckily there was no one walking on the sidewalks where the cars ended up. The driver of the SUV along with passengers were taken by EMS to a local hospital, none had any life threatening injuries.

CrownHeights.Info would like to urge pedestrians to keep away from street corners when waiting to cross. All to often you see people wait on the street itself for the light to change, this poses a serious risk to those pedestrians! Keep back and keep the roads a safer place! I have seen many many cars making that turn to the service lane. It’s very dangerous, there is a school on that corner, and during the day people are making unlawful turns.
Someone in the community board got to petition for something over there.
