Police Involved in Car Crash

Brooklyn, NY – About an hour before the second days of Yom Tov began there was an accident in the intersection of Kingston and Montgomery. The incident took place on Sunday at around 5:30pm when Police Officers were responding to a call on Kingston and Union involving a possible Emotionally Disturbed Person [EDP].

The Police cruiser was heading up Kingston Ave and struck a Black Honda Accord that was crossing the intersection on Montgomery causing it to spin and strike a parked SUV. One patient, the driver of the Honda was complaining of back and neck pains and was transported by EMS to Kings County Hospital. The officers did not sustain any injuries.

    No, the driver of the Honda was a older black woman who lives in the area, she was treated by Hatzalah Paramedics untill KBJ EMS arrived on scene and began assisting Hatzalah.

    From the pictures it looks like shomrim members were responding with medical equipment, Are they trying to rival with hatzalah, or were they there first? since when is shomrim a medical organization?

    People have to start paying more attention to sirens of the emergency vechiles and really move to the side the moment they hear the siren, and wait till the emergency vechile passes before continuing to drive. It’s a sad shtick that everyone has — to try to race the emergency vechiles (let me see if I can beat the emergency vechile, and get to the corner that I want to get to before I actually have to move out of the way. (or worse yet, let me try to make that turn before the emergency vechile comes tumbling through.

    v’nishmartem m’od nafshosaichem. Not just your life, but the life the ppl in the emergency vechile are trying to save too!!

    Actually the guy from Apple Drugs is a Shomrim member, not a Hatzalah member.

    To curious: The Shomrim member was actually carrying a Hatzalah member’s equipment. Shomrim has quite a few EMT’s and a few Paramedics as part of the force but Shomrim does not respond to medical calls, those with the training work in the medical field.

    Those with the skills would often assist medical personal in such incidents.
