A street food vendor on his way to work suffered an odd mishap when he ‘lost’ his food cart on Easter Parkway this morning. The upended cart spilled grease, oil and other cooking supplies all over the roadway.
CATSKILL MOUNTAIN REGION [CHI] — Unfortunately, this year’s first visiting day was not only marked with excited children greeting their parents. Thankfully and miraculously, those other incidents did not turn out grimmer.
About an hour ago a black Mercedes, driven by an African-American male, was speeding at almost 100 MPH down Carroll St. toward New York Ave., as if it were the NASCAR race track. Sure enough, the vehicle lost control and crashed into a Lincoln ‘livery cab’ driven by a Hispanic male, which went crashing into the yard of an adjacent home.
At around 3:00pm today, two police cars from the 71st Precinct were speeding up Rogers Ave. with their lights flashing and sirens on, presumably responding to an emergency call, when they drove through a red light at the intersection of Lefferts Ave.
At around noon today a white Lexus and red Nissan collided as they were heading down Brooklyn Ave. toward the intersection of Empire Blvd. The red Nissan lost control and skid onto the sidewalk in front of the ‘Little feet’ children’s Shoe store, where it struck a 2-year-old Jewish girl.
A white Honda sped through a red light on Eastern Parkway and Albany Ave. at dusk yesterday, swiping a livery cab and crashing straight into a traffic pole.
A collision involving two vehicles, one driven by an elderly Jewish man, occurred at around 2:15pm today on the corner of Nostrand Ave. and Pacific St. in the north side of Crown Heights.
Ten people were injured, including four Jews, after a ‘dollar van’ slammed into a car that was waiting at a red light on Ocean and Parkside Ave. at the edge of Prospect Park, causing a chain collision involving five vehicles.
A two-car crash in Crown Heights sent seven people to the hospital on Monday afternoon. The crash occurred just after 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Rochester Avenue.
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A 4-year-old child was struck by a car on Eastern Parkway’s service lane. The child, along with his family, was in front of Oholei Torah taking pictures ahead of a Simcha that was taking place.
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two cars collided in the middle of the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Brooklyn Avenue, with one of the cars ending up of the ‘island,’ miraculously no pedestrians were hurt. Eyewitnesses said one of the cars blew through a steady red light.
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — “His helmet definitely saved his life,” is what an emergency worker had to say after treating the rider of a motorcycle who crashed into a car on Eastern Parkway. This accident comes just two days after another accident claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman on Empire Boulevard.
A Jewish woman was injured after a van turning off Eastern Parkway struck and knocked her down as she was crossing the street. Witnesses called 911 and Hatzalah.
One of Crown Heights’ most notoriously unsafe intersections was once again host to an accident, which thankfully and miraculously did not injure any pedestrians.
Police say a woman riding a mobility scooter has been fatally struck by a car in Brooklyn. The accident happened at around 1:00am on Wednesday at Eastern Parkway and Utica Avenue.
A pedestrian crossing Empire Blvd. on the corner of Kingston Ave. was struck by a vehicle this morning. The victim was an African-American female in her late 20s. A city ambulance took to her to Kings County Hospital for treatment.
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A few weeks ago an accident in the intersection of Empire and Albany sent a pickup truck smashing through the storefront of the liquor store on that corner. It nearly happened again, and surveillance video captured the incident.
