Cops Speeding Through Red Light Cause Collision

At around 3:00pm today, two police cars from the 71st Precinct were speeding up Rogers Ave. with their lights flashing and sirens on, presumably responding to an emergency call, when they drove through a red light at the intersection of Lefferts Ave.

The first car made it through safely, but the second one slammed into an SUV driven by an elderly Hispanic male, which in turn careened into a car driven by a Jewish woman with her young daughter in the back seat.

The EMS personnel who arrived at the scene administered treatment to the policemen, who were transported to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. They also treated the elderly driver of the SUV, who went into diabetic shock, and transported him to the hospital as well.

While the Jewish woman’s vehicle sustained heavy damage, neither occupant sustained any serious injuries B”H, though both mother and daughter suffered from serious shock, and the mother complained of back pains. Two passing Shomrim volunteers called Hatzolah, who transported them both to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.

    Some joke, the police are racing to 911 calls, not knowing the person from a hole in the wall risking their life, and their only thought is to save someone Yet you have the nerve to make a joke B’H everyone is alright. #4 have respect for the men in blue who have the courage that you don’t . Because I’m sure the police read this as well. Wouldn’t you like them to have respect for us. I’m sure if they read this they won’t.

    There’s a reason people SUSPECT that there was no emergency…

    Whether there was one in this case we don’t know yet. BUT, when it’s your job to save lives, you don’t routinely put others lives in danger by saving 30 seconds to jump lights when its clearly NOT an emergency.

    a police car took a red with only lights and didn’t slow down at all, hit my car. i needed some therapy, and settled with the city 2 years later for $12,000!

    Yes number 5. Have respect for the men in blue, after all they seem to have alot of respect for us…. they may not have been rushing this time to dunkin donuts, it could be they were about to go off duty and every minute then counts. Don’t give me that men in blue devotion bit, I witnessed more than once how fast the men in blue DON’T respond to an accident or other crime. unless it’s a cop in trouble then yes, they fly. But you gotta hand it to them, they are amazingly quick to give tickets for ridiculous parking infractions (while someone is getting mugged etc) Let’s call a spade a spade. They are not there when you need them.

    #5, how do you know #4 isn’t right? How do you know what “emergency” this was? Policemen as a class are not trustworthy people. They perjure themselves routinely. There’s no need to chanfeh them.

    As i sit here and listen to the ridicule from the people in this forum i laugh, rest assured i am no police officer but i am a radio dispatcher for them and all the people with complaints i am sure are some of the thousand of derelict nyer’s who believe that the 911 operators, dispatchers and responding officers are harry whodini himself. But the reality is thats not how it works. And fyi those officers were responding to a call but i am sure it is people like yourselves who refuse to pull over for emergency vechicles , just imagine your kid or mom waiting for ems or fd or the boys in blue and them having to weave through traffic because of people like you and their selfishness.. So next time u start b*h about response time or where they were headed remember you yourself are your own worst enemy
