Mayor Adams Steps Up Care For The Mentally Unwell, Clarifies Law Mandating Care For Those Unable To Care For Their Basic Needs
In accordance with state law and court precedent, Mayor Adams’ directive clarifies that outreach workers, city-operated hospitals, and first responders have the legal authority to provide care to New Yorkers when severe mental illness prevents them from meeting their own basic human needs to the extent that they are a danger to themselves.

The Association of Crown Heights Shuls, which comprises more than 95 Shuls, held its annual Melava Malka this past Motzoei Shabbos Parshas Toldos. The Melava Malka was hosted by the founder of the Association and Rav of Merkaz Sefarad, in honor of his birthday 3 Kislev, and was held in the Merkaz Sefarad Shul.

More than 400 freshly baked challahs were enjoyed by Jewish fans and officials at the World Cup in Qatar this past Shabbat. Baked in a kitchen specially koshered by a young Chabad-Lubavitch rabbi from Turkey, it’s part of a month-long effort to make kosher food available at the games, which began last week and continue until Dec. 18.
