Chabad House in South Broward Destroyed by Flood

A surprise flood that targeted Hallandale Beach Thursday night December 17 and early Friday morning December 18 has destroyed the Chabad Preschool and the main offices of Chabad of South Broward Headquarters. The flood that came without any warning from meteorologists, primarily caused damage to a relatively small geographic area, specifically Hallandale Beach and the coastal cities nearby.

Rabbi Chaim Miller has newly released Rambam: The 13 Principles of Faith: Principles VI & VII: Prophecy. This is the second volume of his series on Maimonides, as expounded by the Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson,tzt”l. Rabbi Miller has also published The Kol Menachem Haggadah, both Ashkanazic and Chabad (Nusach Ari) versions. Rabbi Miller lives in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, where he devotes his time to the publishing house Kol Menachem.

I was recently at a cousin’s wedding in Crown Heights and absolutely enjoyed every moment. My cousin married a fine, frumeh Mentch – AKA chasidishe Bochur, I was with family, the music was Jewish and the dancing was energetic. The joy was authentic and palpable.

Chabad Lights Up the Streets of Berlin

Throughout the 8-day holiday of Chanukah, the streets of Berlin were brightly lit up with ten 15-foot tall menorahs around the city in many populated areas, in addition to the over 500 bus stops which featured advertisements for a large central menorah lighting. But as the excitement filled up throughout the city, there was still one thing missing- a car menorah parade!

Chabad Hosts Beautiful Chanukah Party in Budapest

More then 300 people attended a huge Chanukah party of Israeli Community Foundation – Light Chabad, Budapest, Hungary. There was a magnificent banquet at a hotel Inter Continental hall. The evening began with Shliach Rabbi Baruch Aovrlndr and Chief Rabbi Herbie of Congregation D. Hungary explaining about the essence of the holiday and its meaning relevant to this day. Shliach Rabbi Shmuel Raskin lit the Menorah.

First Time Ever Menorah Lighting at Staples Center in LA

For the first time ever, the Staples Center – home stadium for the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers and Kings – hosted a grand menorah lighting right before a Clippers game. In front of tens-of-thousands of fans, Rabbi Moshe Greenwald, Shliach of Downtown Los Angeles, lit the menorah which was followed by a thunderous round of applause as thousands of Jewish fans expressed their appreciation to Rabbi Greenwald. Also in attendance at the menorah lighting were neighboring Shluchim rabbis Dov Wagner, Nachman Abend and Simcha Backman. This was a major kidush hashem and kidush shem lubavitch.

Chabad Hosts Chanukah Party at Australian Parliament

The 4th candle of Chanukah Menorah was lit in the Victorian Parliament House by the Shliach of Chabad of the Melbourne Central Business District (CBD), in attendance were the Deputy Premier of Victoria Rob Hull and the leader of the opposition Ted Baillieu, as well as other ministers and members of parliament and leaders of the Melbourne Jewish community.
