Chabad of Markham Sets the Bar to New Heights
On the sixth night of Chanukah, Chabad Connections – the Young Adults division of Chabad of Markham, headed by Rabbi Meir & Esther Gitlin and Adam and Shira Klasner set a new – all time high standard for Young Adult programs.
A Chanukah Dinner and Show – attended by over one hundred young adults from around the GTA participated and enjoyed an elaborate Chinese buffet dinner and a Vegas calibre Show, featuring Haim Goldenberg who is described as one of the top ten Mentalist in the world. “The evening was perfect”, says Daniel Israelsohn who explains “The room had ambiance and looked really elegant, the food was absolutely delicious, Rabbi Gitlin spoke inspiringly, and the show was mesmerizing and hilarious”.
“I am very proud of what we accomplished”, says Rabbi Gitlin – “to get over a hundred young adults to come to a program and for them to walk away happy, (hopefully) inspired and looking forward to the next event takes a lot of planning, hard work, and participation. A special thank you to Adam & Shira Klasner, Shiffy Gerber and Rabbi and Mrs. Plotkin for their hard work, help and support.
The Rebbe taught us it is okay to feel proud of one’s accomplishments – but not satisfied. With the success of this evening, we are encouraged and committed to continue to offer and develop bigger and better programs – not just in attractions, but in “toychen and tachlis”.
