Letter & Spirit: The Quality of Humility
In this week’s edition of Letter and Spirit, in the midst of our preparations for the Yom Tov of Pesach – especially the baking of matzah, we present a letter from the Rebbe in which he addresses the quality of humility, in keeping with the lesson of matzah which we strive to internalize at this time. The letter was written in English through the Rebbe’s trusted secretary Rabbi Nissan Mindel, and was made available by the latter’s son-in-law, Rabbi Sholom Ber Shapiro.
Republican Presidential Hopeful Visits Model Matzah Bakery
Republican presidential candidate Senator Ted Cruz visited a model Matzah in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn Thursday afternoon while on the campaign trail in New York. He was greeted by Rabbi Moshe Winner of the Chabad Neshama Center and together with a group of children they baked Mazah and spoke about Passover.

NY Times Smears Orthodox Jews, Violates Own Policy
The New York Times made a point of mentioning that two of the subjects of an FBI inquiry into corruption in the NYPD are Orthodox-Jewish men, violating their own policy of not bringing up a suspect’s race or religion if it has nothing to do with the crime being investigated. None of the other suspects’ race or religion is mentioned.

It was two years ago that Debra Cordy found a small envelope tucked away in her parents’ home as she prepared to move her mother to an assisted-living facility. As she packed up her parents’ belongings, the handwritten word “Dachau” on the envelope caught her attention. When she opened it, she found a few fragments of what appeared to be human remains.
