The U.S. Department of Justice has launched an investigation into the New Jersey town of Toms River after its refusal of a zoning variance that will allow a Chabad rabbi to lead prayers in his home.
All the schools in Crown Heights celebrated Lag Baomer with a unity Hakhel gathering in the Old Boys and Girls School Field, the site which the Rebbe visited a similar gathering 25 years ago.

Lubavitcher Photographer Meir Alfasi took Judaism to new heights by trekking up Mount Everest with his black hat and Kapota, along with paper and a printer, and printing the Tanya on the mountain. “The Lubavitcher Rebbe instructed us to print the Tanya in every place where there are Jews,” he told Israeli media.

Hundreds of Crown Heights residents of all ages turned out tonight, Wednesday, for the Lag Ba’omer bonfire on Kingston Avenue, in front of the George Wingate High School.
Girls from Beis Rivka High School had a special Lag Ba’omer evening, which included a bonfire as well as a barbecue, arranged by the school administration. The event included meaningful programing for the girls, ensuring that the evening was celebrated appropriately.
