Dr. Tzvi Lang, Vice Chairman of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council meets with Congressman Charles Rangel of New York. Congressman Rangel is the Chair of the most powerful committee in the US Congress, the Ways and Means Committee. This committee controls all federal tax powers and oversees hundreds of federal programs. Congressman Rangel is also the Dean of the New York State Congressional Delegation.

Dr. Lang represented the Crown Heights community at a Jewish leadership breakfast honoring Mr. Rangel.

The weekly pamphlet for Mivtzoim, printed by Jabad of Argentina, headed by Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt, and edited by Sofer Moshe Dahan, and Mrs. Miriam Kapaluschnik, is now available here in New York, to be distributed to the people on your Mivtzoim route.

No need to explain the importance of such a paper, or go into how much people enjoy reading something in their native language, even if they can also read English or Hebrew. So therefore, after much effort, and working together with Jabad of Argentina, they are being printed in New York, with the local Candle Lighting Times, and are available in the “Mivtzoim Resource Center”/“Mivtzoim Sale”.

The scam works as follows: The bell rings. A guy is by the door, claiming to be from Con Edison. He claims he was in the neighborhood and wanted to check on customers who might be eligible for a discount on their bill. He shows the unsuspecting resident a Con Ed bill that shows that the person can save money…

Rabbi Shalom Hammer Speaks at Yeshiva High School of the Twin Cities

Rabbi Shalom Hammer, world-renowned teacher and author of The Family Parsha Book, took time out of his lecture tour throughout the Twin Cities and stopped into the Yeshiva High School of the Twin Cities.
