Cousins Separated During Holocaust Reunited 75 Years Later

When the Nazis invaded Romania during World War II, Simon Phippen was eight years old and his cousin Morris Sneh was ten years old. The cousins, who were also close friends, were forced to part when each of their families fled for their lives from their hometown of Iași, a Mako report said on Sunday. This past weekend, Simon and Morris, together with their children, met in Israel for the first time in 75 years. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when the cousins embraced.

Israel to Cut Power Supply to PA Over Unpaid Debts

Israel’s national electricity company said Sunday it was cutting power to parts of the Palestinian Authority due to outstanding payments amounting to nearly $483 million. The Israel Electric Corporation said it was owed 1.7 billion shekels in debts from the main power distributor for Palestinian Authority-controlled towns in Judea and Samaria, which is based in eastern Jerusalem.

Two Jewish Brothers Shot In Montreal

Two Jewish brothers were shot in an attempted murder in Côte-St-Luc, Motzei Shabbos. According to Montreal police, the incident occurred shortly after 10:00PM near the intersection of Mackle Road and Eldridge Ave. Police say someone rang their doorbell, and opened fire when the door was opened.
