From Storefront to Brand New Synagogue Building

Approaching their 20th anniversary, Chabad of Wilmette members hope to someday be able to walk from their social room to the sanctuary without having to step outside.

LOS ANGELES, CA [CHI] — Thousands gathered to mark the eighth and final night of Chanukah by illuminating a 20-foot Menorah at L.A. LIVE — LA’s new hotspot located across Staples Center, home of the L.A. Lakers, Clippers and Kings. The “Chanukah at LA Live!” celebration took place prior to the Lakers vs. Jazz game, with a sellout crowd of 18,997.

Israelis who were on the streets during Hanukkah likely saw the Chabad ‘mitzvah tanks’, which have become well known on Israel’s streets for their successful activities aimed at bringing the Torah and its commandments closer to people.

First Ever Public Menorah Lighting in Islington, London

On the 3rd night of Chanukah, Chabad held it’s first ever public menorah lighting at the Islington Green. Over one hundred participants enjoyed potato latkes, doughnuts and hot cocoa in a family friendly atmosphere.
