From time to time, various neighborhoods are featured in The Jewish Week. This week they covered New York’s Upper East Side, with the lead section profiling Chabad in the area, led by Rabbi Ben Tzion and Chanie Krasniasnki.
This past week I had the privilege of accompanying my Mother to Washington, D.C for the Republican Jewish Coalition Leadership meeting, where I had the opportunity to hear such speakers as Congressman Artur Davis, Senator George Allen, Fox News Channel contributor Michael Barone, several analysts in US defense policies, foreign and Middle Eastern affairs and RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks.

Danny Tarkanian is the Republican candidate for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District. This week he traveled to Florida for a fundraising trip, and while he was there he met with the president of the Orthodox Alliance of Florida, Rabbi Y. Kaploun, in his Miami Beach home. Before the candidate left, Rabbi Kaploun gave him a copy of ‘In G-d We Trust,’ a book of the Lubavitcher Rabbe’s teachings on American values.
