Last night at about 2:00am, the Nachman family awoke to discover rising flood waters engulfing their home – located in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Mill Basin. To make matters worse, the flooding caused a gas malfunction which released large amounts of carbon monoxide – a lethal poison.

911 Overwhelmed with Calls Monday Night
NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that the NYC 911 system received 10,000 calls per half hour on Monday night. A quick math suggests that this is 333.3 calls per minute, which in turn means 5.5 calls per second!
