Letter & Spirit: How Many Elements Are There?
In this week’s edition of Letter and Spirit, we present a letter from the Rebbe in which he explains the four basic elements as taught in Tanya, and explains them within the context of the over-one-hundred elements taught in science. The letter was written in English through the Rebbe’s trusted secretary Rabbi Nissan Mindel, and was made available by the latter’s son-in-law, Rabbi Sholom Ber Shapiro.

Israeli Woman Claims to Be Possessed by ‘Dibbuk’
An Israeli woman recently entered a synagogue in the city of Elad claiming she is possessed by a ‘Dibbuk.’ A ‘Kabbalist’ who took up the task of extracting the ‘Dibbuk’ claims that he has communicated with the spirit, which purportedly identified itself as the soul of a man who committed a murder 70 years ago.

Second Teen Stabbed to Death on Utica Ave.
Merely hours after an 18-year-old African-American teen was stabbed to death inside a Utica Ave. shoe store, another 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death barely a few hundred feet away, on the corner of Utica Ave. and Eastern Parkway – near the Crown Heights-Utica Ave. subway station, in what appears to be a related incident.
