Nine Burned Sifrei Torah Buried in New Brunswick
Members of the historic New Jersey synagogue Congregation Poale Zedek in New Brunswick, NJ, along with Jews from all around the region, gathered yesterday to bury nine Torah scrolls and hundreds of books that were destroyed in a fire – along with the synagogue itself.

Teenaged Girls Stab 80-Year-Old Man with Scissors
Two Palestinian teenaged girls, aged 14 and 16, stabbed an elderly man with a pair of scissors in Jerusalem’s Machane Yehuda market this afternoon, thinking he was an Israeli. The 80-year-old victim was later revealed to be a Palestinian resident of Betlehem.

Israeli Finance Minister Visits the Ohel
Moshe Kahlon, the Israeli Minister of Finance, kicked off a trip to New York with an early morning visit to the Ohel. Accompanied by Rabbi Sholom Duchman, chairman of Kolel Chabad, his son Rabbi Zalman Duchman, along with Rabbi Zalman Wolff, who accompanied the minister from Israel. At the Ohel the minister wrote a Pan, put on Tefillin and prayed at the Ohel.
