The community is invited to an inspirational evening honoring the Shloshim of Rabbi Yonah Avtzon A”H, with addresses by Rabbi Simon Jacobson and others. The event, for men and women, will take place at the Roza Hall (Bais Rivkah), 470 Lefferts Avenue, from 8:00 – 10:00 pm.

Newly launched BNB Kosher is an Airbnb alternative for the Jewish community around the world including Crown Heights, with every rental situated in close proximity to Synagogues, kosher restaurants and amenities.

Alternate Side Parking Rules Suspended Monday February 4th
Alternate side parking (street cleaning) regulations are suspended on Monday, February 4th, 2019 for Lunar New Year’s Eve. All other regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect.

Higher Fares For Taxis as New York City Congestion Pricing Goes Into Effect
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, fares for some New York City taxis and ride shares became more expensive. New York rolled out its first phase of congestion pricing, a controversial new policy that taxes for-hire vehicles in order to fund the city’s mass transit system. For now, Ubers, Lyfts and other car services driving south of 96th Street in Manhattan will see $2.75 surcharge and yellow cabs will cost an extra $2.50.

Kosher Supermarket ‘Seasons’ Relaunching Under New Ownership
Seasons, the kosher supermarket chain that declared bankruptcy last year, has new owners and is reopening one of its closed locations. According to a news release sent Thursday, Seasons is under the ownership of the family of businessman Joseph Bistritzky, CEO of the Maramont Corp., a food services company.

As Shiva ends for Rabbi Yehoshua Wilansky OBM, the Wilansky family would like to extend a big thank you to the Crown Heights community for coming out and supporting the four daily minyanim three times a day.

This video, reportedly taken Friday before shabbos, shows a large group of soldiers dancing around the Chabad tefillin table at Jerusalem’s central bus station. 40 UN Ambassadors Visit City of David
A delegation of about 40 UN ambassadors visited the City of David today (Saturday). They were led by Israel’s UN Ambassador, Danny Danon. The ambassadors met Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon, Israel Priza laureate David Be’eri and the Deputy President of the City of David, Doron Shpilman.

Chabad Doctor Pinny Young found himself in the right place at the right time. Forced to take an Amtrak train due to weather, he was there to save the life of someone with an airway emergency. The conductors on the train thanked him, and said in their four years as conductors, they have never had such an emergency.

As this Thursday is the shloshim for my brother HaRav, Hachossid, Hatomin, Reb Yonah, and during shiva many people mentioned to us that they had no idea of the extent of his peulos (activities), I decided to mention a few points that he took tremendous pride in having the zechus to participate in and/or accomplish. This way one can obtain a glimpse of his life and hiskashrus to the Rebbe.
