It’s become obvious that Crown Heights has a problem. That problem rides around on a bike, black garbage bag in hand, and steals packages from in front of Crown Heights homes in broad daylight. The thief has been caught on camera yet again confidently walking up to houses and lifting their packages. Despite being caught on camera multiple times, the man has yet to be caught in the act.

With great sadness we report the passing of Mrs. Yehudis Posner OBM of Lod Israel, the wife of the first Shliach to Israel Rabbi Zushe Posner. She passed away Shabbos morning, the 14th of Elul, 5779.

A parents worst nightmare played out Thursday evening in Crown Heights, when their special needs child managed to get out of the house and run off. Following a door to door search, Shomrim managed to reunite the mother and child.

NYPD CrimeStoppers Launches App
A new smartphone app has given New Yorkers a new way to communicate crime tips to the New York Police Department. The NYPD’s new CrimeStoppers app was unveiled Thursday, and lets people send tips in multiple languages, along with photos and videos from their smartphone.

Yale Launches Holocaust Survivors Podcast
Yale University’s Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies launched a podcast series featuring the remembrances of survivors. The series launched this week with the testimony of Martin Schiller, a Jewish man from Poland who described his experiences in the concentration and slave labor camps of Plaszow, Skarzysko-Kamienna, Buchenwald and Theresienstadt. Plaszow serves as the setting for the film “Schindler’s List.”
