More than 60 years ago, Firuta’s family hid Bonder and his sister Joan in their dimly lit attic in the remote village of Ostra Mogila in Nazi-occupied Poland.

Because Thanksgiving Day is a major legal holiday, parking meter regulations are also suspended. On major legal holidays, stopping, standing, and parking are permitted, except in areas where stopping, standing, and parking rules are in effect 7 days a week (for example, “No Standing Anytime”). (Thursday Only!)

PLEASE NOTE: Friday and Saturday, November 27-28 are NOT major legal holidays. Parking meter regulations and all other parking regulations other than Alternate Side Parking will be in effect on Friday and Saturday, November 27-28.

As memorials begin taking place in India and around the world remembering the terrorist attacks last year in Mumbai which claimed at least 173 lives, including those of Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg along with their Chabad House guests. This morning CNN ran a article covering the story of little Moishe’s survival and life Sandra, his nanny who saved his life.

With sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Shamshon Charitonow OBM of Crown Heights in his 90’s.

R. Shamshon is survived by his children Yosef Yitzchak Charitonow (Crown Heights), Rabbi Sholom Charitonow (Crown Heights), Rabbi Shmaryahu Charitonow (Shliach to Buffalo, NY), and Avraham Charitonow (Crown Heights).

The Levaya will take place today, Thursday, and will be leaving from the Shomrei Hadaas Chaples at 10:00am and passing by 770 at around 10:30am.
