The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today released the results of an unprecedented worldwide survey of anti-Semitic attitudes. The ADL Global 100: An Index of Anti-Semitism surveyed 53,100 adults in 102 countries and territories in an effort to establish, for the first time, a comprehensive data-based research survey of the level and intensity of anti-Jewish sentiment across the world.

Jewish Mother, Daughter Killed in Cambodia

Daphna Beerdsen, a Dutch Jewish woman living in Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia, was found slain in her apartment along with her 19-month-old daughter on April 28. Rabbi Bentzion Butman, Shliach to Cambodia and a close acquaintance of the deceased, spoke to the media about Daphna’s unique positive character and the community’s “incredible loss.”

Holocaust Survivor, Age 111, Now World’s Oldest Man

About a month and a half ago, CrownHeights.info published an article about Alexander Imich, a 111-year-old holocaust survivor and his rediscovery of his Jewish heritage thanks to Coney Island Shliach Rabbi Pinny Marozov. As of yesterday, Alexander has been confirmed to be the oldest man in the world.

Kharkov Mayor Wakes, Speaks and Begins Recovery

The Jewish mayor of Kharkov, Ukraine, is conscious and recovering at the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel, confirmed Kharkov’s chief rabbi and Chabad emissary, Rabbi Moshe Moskovitz.

Jewish Mayor of Kharkov is Shot

The mayor of Ukraine’s second-largest city was shot in the back while out jogging Monday morning, and was reported to be in critical condition following emergency surgery.
