YG Melbourne Hosts Communal Kinus Torah

The Rabbinical College of Australia and New Zealand (Yeshivah Gedolah – Melbourne) hosted a communal Kinus Torah on Sunday, the tenth of Sivan. The Kinus was convened in conjunction with Shavuos, as per the Rebbe’s directive that a Kinus be held on, or immediately after, each Yom Tov.

Maintaining Jewish life in the heart of the Amazon is anything but simple for Rabbi Arieh and Dvorah Lea Raichman, who settled in Manaus, Brazil, in 2009. Like their counterparts all over the Portuguese-speaking country, they will be using their know-how and resources to accommodate the confluence of Jewish visitors who will descend on their city during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which is slated to take place in 12 cities scattered across Brazil from mid-June to mid-July.
