Christians Donate $650,000 to Jewish Communities in Eastern Ukraine

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews pledged $650,000 in emergency funding for Jews in the battle zones of eastern Ukraine. The funding will ensure thousands of food and medicine packages, as well as three months of operating soup kitchens and providing security for Jewish synagogues and institutions in Donetsk, Lugansk and Mariupol.

200 Gather in Cleveland to Combat Child Abuse

200 members of Cleveland’s orthodox Jewish community gathered on Sunday night to hear from abuse survivors, mental health professionals, and legal experts, in a “Night of Awareness and Education” about CSA. The event was organized by Jewish Community Watch (JCW), an organization committed to raising awareness of and preventing CSA in the orthodox Jewish community. The standing-room only crowd included survivors, parents of small children, and community leaders.

Train Crash Victim Ellen Brody Was Loving Mother and Selfless Community Member

Ellen Brody, the 49-year-old mother of three whose SUV was at the center of a fatal Metro-North train crash on Wednesday—in what is being called the worst accident in the train line’s history—is being remembered by those who knew her as a loving mother and friend, and an active and selfless community member. Five other people lost their lives in the accident.
