Op-Ed: I Think We Need to Start a New Playgroup

by Chaim Fine

In 5733 the Rebbe refused to come out to the big Sunday Lag BaOmer parade planed for that year! How can I come out when certain things in the community prevent me from coming!

Its not politics, its human nature! People are human and wired a certain way. A very famous philosopher once said “the greatest need of a person is to be needed”. Chassidus and Yiddishkeit are supposed to show us how to live a life higher then der velt, and how Hashem wants us to control our selves and make this place a dira, to make a Kidush Hashem, to be a light onto the nations. Yet the bottom line is everyone still has a Nefesh Habehamis.

The Rebbe use to explain that the Yatzer Harah disguises himself as a big Chossid and a Talmid Chochum, in 5733 even in front of the Rebbe, human nature took over, no stories of the good ol’ days, no more if the Rebbe was still here B’gashmeus etc. its ALL BULL! We fought like babies then and were doing it now.

Avinu Malkeinu Hatzmach Lanu Yeshua B’korov

To the Entire Community,

Words are inadequate to express our sincere gratitude for all your tefillohs, tzedaka, and ma’assim tovim during this painful period.

This has been a very difficult time for us, and indeed the outpouring of your genuine concern and compassion has sustained us, and at the same time left us in great awe of the heartfelt affection towards our family.

Your warmth, kindness, and caring has truly humbled us.

The Eibishter should bentch you b’soich klal yisroel with gezunt, hatzlochoh, and brochoh b’harchovoh. May we be zoche to only share in simchas, and the ultimate simcha of the imminent coming of Moshiach.

Thank you,
The Neuwirth Family

Circuitous JOURNEY – Finding G-d In And Through Sin

By Rabbi Yoseph Kahanov Jax, Fl.

A junior partner of an established law firm called an urgent staff meeting. “I have good news and bad news,” he said with a wry grin on his face. “Which do you want first?” The staff groaned and agreed that they’d better get the bad news first.

“Okay,” said the junior partner, “Let me give it to you straight. We will be down-sizing. Half of you won’t have a job tomorrow. The rest of you will be allowed to stay, but only if you are willing to take a substantial reduction in salary.”

There was a long stillness as the staff stood horrified in shock. Finally, a voice pierced the deafening silence: “So what’s the good news?” “Oh! Good that you remembered,” said the beaming boss: “Congratulations are in order; today I have become a full partner.

Those of us, on the lowlier spectrum of humanity, can take some solace in the fact that no one is perfect, not even our renowned Biblical ancestors. Even the celebrated patriarch Avraham, perhaps the greatest human to walk the earth, was not without fault. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Since its inception fifteen years ago, the Friendship Circle has built a dynamic international community to support children with special needs and their families. With over seventy centers around the world, the organization has initiated a host of meaningful and educational programs, all centered around teenage volunteers visiting the homes of children with special needs and involving them in a world of friendship they are all-too-often left out of.

And now, Friendship Circle is singing a new tune.

No, that’s not a metaphor. The Friendship Circle is proud to announce its new song called, “My Friend,” that will inspire Friendship Circle members and raise awareness in the community at large.
