Hebrew, Hindi, Other Scripts get Web Address Nod

SEOUL, South Korea [AP] — The nonprofit body that oversees Internet addresses approved Friday the use of Hebrew, Hindi, Korean and other scripts not based on Latin characters in a decision that could make the Web dramatically more inclusive.

The board of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers — or ICANN — voted to allow such scripts in so-called domain names at the conclusion of a weeklong meeting in Seoul, South Korea’s capital.

Shula Swerdlov Torah Writing Commencement

Family and Friends of Shula Swerdlov a”h gathered on Tuesday, October 27th, the day after shivah, to initiate the start of a new Sefer Torah in her honor. The completion of writing the Torah is scheduled to coincide with the first yartzeit. The Swerdlov family welcomes their extended family and friends to join them in the Mitzvah of writing a Torah.

Day 1: Jury Selection for the Shomrim Trial

A grueling full day of jury selection took place in the New York State Supreme Court today, where six community members are facing serious criminal charges and can face a possible lengthy prison sentence.

The prosecution and the defense polled prospective jurors as to their work and interests in order to determine if they each can function as a fair and impartial judge based on the facts that will be presented during the course of the trial.
