Vayeishev: There seems to be a form of cognitive dissonance that is unique to the malady of slander and hurtful speech. Our slander is rarely the result of a lack of knowledge and awareness. We know that it’s wrong; we are all quite familiar with its insidious and destructive outcome, yet we don’t seem to treat the tongue with the same prudence that we do other hazardous behaviors.
The Chabad-Lubavitch of Teaneck teen club gathered for a hands-on lesson of peace and tolerance by assembling Chanukah menorahs for soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces that included spent bullet casings in the construction. “A bullet, which is a symbol of warfare and oppression,” said Rabbi Michoel Goldin of Chabad of Teaneck, “was used to create a menorah, a symbol of peace and freedom.”
Mendy Pellin, the world-acclaimed Chassidic comedian and actor, flew in from Los Angeles to co-host the RCCS “Miracles ’12” Auction drawing. Pellin joins a long list of Jewish superstars who have dedicated this evening on behalf of the several hundred cancer-stricken families helped each year by RCCS, the Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society.

The organizers of the Annual NYC Chanukah Menorah Parade, run by the Mitzvah Tank Org., have announced that the this years parade will take place on Thursday night the 6th night of Chanukah – December 13th, 5:00pm.
The fact that there are no official campus Shluchim at Yeshiva University does not mean that there is no Chassidus. The student-run Chabad Club at Stern College for Women has been extremely busy this semester with events such as trips to the Ohel, weekly Tanya classes, and guest lecturers.
