A Penny War that Raised Over $1700

Dr. Mitchell Kupperman, LYA Educational Director and preschool student, Mendel Wolff, rolling out all the money collected during Penny Wars. It took over three hours to count all the change at the Penny Arcade at the bank.

Have you ever heard of a war where everyone wins? Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy in Longmeadow, MA were recently involved in a battle between grades to benefit all. This event is called Penny Wars.

Chabad on Campus will Bring Light to 170 Campuses

Chabad on Campus International Foundation has partnered with Alpha Epsilon Pi International, the largest Jewish fraternity, to ensure that every AEPi house will receive a Menorah kit including a Menorah, Chanukah guide, dreidels, chocolate gelt, and a “Chanukah Party Guide”. Kits are being sent to 170 AEPi chapters in the United States, Canada, Europe and Israel.

Musical Tribute in Memory of Levi Yitzchak Wolowik

Almost four years since the tragic passing of nine year old Levi Yitzchak Wolowik, son of the Chabad shluchim to the Five Towns, his parents, Rabbi Zalman and Chanie Wolowik of Woodmere, are marking what would be their son’s Bar Mitzvah with a special siyum in his memory.

Monday, December 3, corresponding this year to 19 Kislev, is marked by Jewish communities around the world in commemoration of the 214th anniversary of Chabad’s founder, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi’s liberation from Czarist imprisonment. Known by the Hebrew dates, 19 Kislev, the day has since been celebrated as the Rosh Hashana—the New Year of Chasidic thought, and the start of a new epoch in the study of Jewish mysticism.
