Andrea Robbins traveled with her husband and fellow photographer Max Becher to capture images of the numerous replicas of Chabad Headquarters-770 Eastern Parkway that are scattered all across the globe. The photographs will be displayed in a unique gallery that will go on view next month in Manhattan.
Picture of the Day: Hot Dogs, Car Batteries and Tefilin
Crown Heights community member Mendel Goldstein was on a trip with his family in Long Island yesterday; when it was time for lunch, he hooked up a miniature microwave oven to his car battery to cook some hot dogs. As he prepared the meal, the owner of the adjacent ‘air trampoline’ establishment came out to see what he was doing. In the ensuing conversation, it was revealed that the man was Jewish and hadn’t put on Tefilin since his Bar Mitzvah – which was 40 years ago.

Regional Kinus of Shluchim to Asia in Nariman House
An amazing triumph brought the Shluchim of Asia together for a regional Kinus Hashluchim in the Nariman House in Mumbai, India. After being largely destroyed in a terror attack, which claimed the lives of Shluchim Rabbi Gabi and Rivky Holtzberg along with three other Jews HYD, the building has been rebuilt and is being dedicated with the day’s long conference.

A earthquake, which registered at a magnitude of 6.0, shook the Bay Area of San Francisco, California causing damage and displacing hundreds and injured dozens. Among the damaged structures was that of Chabad of Napa Valley.
Op-Ed: The Real Challenge
Lately there’s been a social media craze that looks so good, so special – on the surface. It’s so encouraging to see so many people who are willing to take the challenge and get themselves drenched in freezing water just to bring awareness to a disease which debilitates fellow human beings. Although they are perhaps not personally affected by this horrible disease, yet they are ready to do this selfless act to help total strangers in need.
