
Earthquake Shakes California Bay Area, Damages Chabad House
A earthquake, which registered at a magnitude of 6.0, shook the Bay Area of San Francisco, California, causing damage and displacing hundreds and injured dozens. Among the damaged structures was that of Chabad of Napa Valley.
The earthquake struck at around 3:20am local time, and is reported to be the strongest quake to strike in 25 years.
Chabad of Napa Valley, directed by Rabbi Elchonon and Chanie Tenenbaum, suffered serious damage.
“Community has begun to rally to support their Shliach located at the epicenter of a significant earthquake that struck this morning” a community member said in an email.
