OU Starts Own Chabad-on-Campus Style Program
The Orthodox Union has teamed up with Jewish campus group Hillel to begin an outreach program for Jewish college students in the mold of Chabad-on-Campus. The OU will dispatch married couples who will serve as rabbis and rebbetzins, co-directing the organization’s branches on campuses across the U.S.

Beis Rivka Teachers to Continue Strike
In a letter to parents, Beis Rivkah Primary Teachers in grades 1 through 3 write that they are forced to continue a work strike, which began before Pesach. Representatives for the striking teachers alleged that the administration was actively preventing the teachers from being paid by the board, a charge which was vehemently denied by a source close to the administration, who told CrownHeights.info that “nothing has changed.”

The Baal Shem Tov instituted the custom of partaking of a “Seudas Moshiach” on the afternoon of the last day of Passover; in addition to the Matzah eaten at “Seudas Moshiach”, the Rebbes of Chabad added the custom of drinking four cups of wine, as in the Seder held on Passover’s first days.

The Lubavticher Bochur who was critically injured in an accident in Guatemala has been successfully transported back to the United States, thanks to the efforts of many and now faces a long road to recovery. Friends have launched a fundraiser to help cover some of the medical costs.
Thieves Break into Chabad Shul, Beat and Rob Caretaker
A pair of thieves broke into a Chabad synagogue in Flatbush, Brooklyn, and while searching for valuables they happened upon the caretaker, whom they beat and robbed – even forcing him to open the safe of the Aron Kodesh. Update: $6,000 reward posted for information leading to arrests.

Shmuel and Bentzi Marcus of the 8th Day kicked off a Major League baseball game between the Miami Marlins and the New York Mets on the first day of Chol Hamoed Pesach at Marlins Stadium in Miami, Florida. The pair belted out the national anthem before the start of the game.
