Summer Merkos Shlichus 5770 Registration NOW OPEN!

The Merkos Shlichus office has announced that registration for Merkos Shlichus for Summer 5770 has recently opened. 

Each summer and holiday season, Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, dispatches hundreds of rabbinical students to small Jewish communities around the globe.

Sunday, Baltimore: Spectacular Lag BaOmer Concert and Fair

This Sunday Avraham Fried will perform at a concert and fair in honor of Lag BaOmer, a day of Jewish unity and pride. The event is scheduled to begin with the fair at 2:30pm and program at 4:00pm at the Yeshivat Rambam. Free admission.

Ahavas Chesed Blood Drive

There will be a Ahavas Chesed Blood Drive today, Tuesday, April 27 at 3pm until 9pm. Refreshments will be served. ID is required to make the donation. The center is located at 271 Kingston Ave, between Lincoln Place and St Johns Place.

Siyum HaRambam in Morristown

On Monday, 12 Iyar, a grand Siyum Harambam celebration will Iy”h take place at the Berger Auditorium in Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim Morristown, NJ, with the participation of the faculty of the Yeshivos Tomchei Temimim and Tiferes Bachurim, as well as Shluchim from around the state. A very special Farbrengen will be held afterwards, with Rabbi Berel Shemtov, head Shliach of Michigan.

Siyum Harambam at Miami Beach

Tonight, Sunday a Siyum HaRambam will IYH take place at the Yeshiva Gedolah on 1140 Alton Rd in Miami Beach, Florida. All in the community are invited. Dinner will be served, followed by a Chasideshe Farbrengen. The event is being held in honor of Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin.

PSA: Late Night Noise & No Gas Tonight

Tuesday, April 20, on the corner of Kingston Ave and Crown St. out of respect to Kingston Bakery and House of Glatt National Grid did not want to stop the gas lines leading to their buildings during the day (as part of the upgrading of the gas lines along Kingston Ave.) in order not to cause them any monetary loss.

Thursday: Event Honoring Issac Zellemaier OBM

For many of us residing in Crown Heights for the last 30 years, the International Chocolate and Almond Corp., aka The Kosher Candy Store, was a familiar stop on our, shpatzir (walk) down Kingston Ave.. Mr. Isac Zellemaier, OB”M was often seen outside his store which he ran with his brother Heshy, was always looking to see how he could help improve the neighborhood in general and the lot of those who needed assistance in particular. He did this tirelessly and without fanfare while running the store and raising his family in Boro Park.

Alternate Side Parking Regulations Suspended for Pesach

Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday March 30th alternate side parking regulations are suspended throughout Pesach, less Saturday for people parking on Eastern Parkway.

The days suspended are March 30th through April 2nd, and April 5th and 6th.

All other regulations including, including parking meters, remain in effect.
